  1. I'm not in the airline industry, so can someone explain that to me? They are going to serve Devils Lake with the same size airplane as they did Grand Forks. If they were losing money in GF, why didn't they try cutting back to one flight per day or only coming every other day of the week or something like that? I flew on United out of GFK about 3 weeks ago. Leaving GF every seat on the 50 passenger plane was full. On the return flight there were 14 people. Is there any chance of another west bound connection coming to GFK now, like Frontier maybe? Or is it just a dead duck?
  2. See, it didn't take long........... Bison Media Blog: Blah, blah, blah, blah
  3. Check BV. They are more than "open" to the idea of North Dakota in the Summit........
  4. Yes. He is going to DII school closer to home. Actually, not much closer to home than North Dakota is.............
  5. I respectfully disagree regarding how hard it will be to turn this program around. Good coaching goes a long ways. There is a big difference between restoring a winning culture versus building a winning culture..........
  6. Summit League is now averaging a membership change every 1.4 years. Stabity baby...........stability.
  7. Awe crap....... Now we are going to have to continue with putting up with more BS about the vaunted I29 Corridor league and FU fans begging North Dakota to join it because it "makes so much sense".
  8. My biggest problem is the way that some are throwing Faison under the bus for the first DUI. I run a business myself. I am a farmer and I have several employees. If one of them is otherwise a valuable asset to my business, but goes out on their own time and gets a DUI, I am not going to fire them for it. If they get a DUI while driving one of my trucks or otherwise while on the job for me they would get the axe right quick. Basically that is what has taken place at UND this week. I just don't agree that Hardee should have been made an example of for his DUI two summers ago, as long as it didn't involve a University vehicle, employee, or athlete. From the few in person dealings with Faison that I have had, my guess is this week would have unfolded the exact same way even if Hardee had no prior issues whatsoever.
  9. I can only speak to how I myself have reacted to the transparency of either university. I didn't know about the FU wrestling coach's DUI until today. Seems to me like his punishment was a bit harsh. The offense itself was exposed by the media not the university. Travis Beck's downtown fight: I said when it happened that it sounded like the other guy threw the first punch so IMO Beck was justified and had every right to beat the hell out of anybody who is attacking him. That story was exposed by the media not the university. Petition-Gate: It was laughable the way that Taylor handled that. A complete joke. Exposed by the media not the university. Bohl's speeding tickets: I don't give a hoot about how fast Bohl drives. I drive fast. Exposed by the media not the university. FU tight-end/weed dealer: Loser. IIRC FU took care of him swiftly like they should have. Exposed by the media not the university. Best Buy-gate: A bunch of criminals. IIRC FU dealt with them swiftly like they should have. Exposed by the media not the university. Danny Kristos frozen feet: Who did he hurt other than himself? I called him dumbass at the time. Exposed by the media not the university. UND linebacker breaks into woman's home: Expelled immediately. Exposed by media not university. UND FB players using steroids: This involved 3 seniors after the season was over. I honestly don't recall if they were expeled, but they should have been and I hope they were. Exposed by media not the university. Hakstol's middle digit: Embarrassing. He was suspended immediately. 2012 Hockey Hazing: Lots of players suspended for multiple games. Exposed by the media not the university. Matt Frattin DUI: Kicked off campus for 6+ months. Exposed by the university not the media. Ashley Hardee Hit & Run: His employment at UND was over within 36 hours of the situation going public. Exposed by the university not the media. I think at best you need to take issue with the Forum and the Herald rather than UND's spokespeople or fans. Fargo is a much bigger city with many more news outlets. That is likely why NDSU comes under more scrutiny when bad stuff happens, and by the same token when good stuff happens.
  10. Thanks. I didn't know the answer so that is why I asked. CAS is inferring that Faison was way out of line for not calling a press conference or putting out a release when Hardee got his DUI. Looks like Gene Taylor also did neither in the case of the FU wrestling coach, rather he commented on the situation after the media approached him. Take the Herald to task for not uncovering or reporting the DUI, not UND. It is not their job. UND did put out the initial word when Hardee was put on leave on Monday morning and two days later was no longer employed.
  11. Did NDSU call a press conference to announce that coach's DUI and suspension as CAS is implying UND should have done in Hardee's case? I don't think it is the AD's responsibility make something like that public, if it didn't involve University property, personnel, or student athletes. Hardee's DUI happened in June, the off-season, likely on his own time. It would be a totally different story if it happened while at a University sanctioned event, during the season, and involved UND players. That is what happened this weekend, and Hardee is now gone. I suspect the outcome would be the same even if Hardee didn't have the prior DUI.
  12. Let's try and dial back the speculation a bit and wait for some facts to come out.
  13. Dan Corey ‏@DanCorey8now UND Athletic Director Brian Faison said Hardee's actions were "unacceptable" and "that's why we've taken the action we've taken."
  14. His profile is already gone from fightingsioux.com. That didn't take long...............
  15. I have always also preferred a more balanced offense. Eastern Washington is the only example I can really think of that has won a National Title with an offense predicated on chucking it around as much as possible.
  16. I moved all the posts regarding Hardee's suspension from the 2013 season thread to this one. It still only has half as many posts as the thread on Bisonville that is devoted to Hardee right now, but figured it would make it easier for our FU fans to jump to conclusions.
  17. I can't believe I forgot "Kober". Well that is two syllables. Must have been what threw me off............................
  18. I think at this point Pflugrad obviously has the inside track, because Dan Hammer could easily refer to him as "Coach Pflu", ala Coach Brew, Coach Muss, Coach Hak............ He passes the first syllable test............
  19. Of the 41 applications that have come in, my guess would be that the following six are the only ones that haven't made it to Faison's garbage can. I'm thinking these six meet the qualifications. Pflugrad, Marshall, and Dewitt are probably the only ones that Faison is considering taking the time to have a conversation with. • Robin Pflugrad, offensive coordinator, Weber State, former Montana coach. • Bob Connelly, former assistant at Arizona State; former associate head coach UTEP; former assistant at UCLA. • Jamie Marshall, assistant head coach/defensive coordinator at Montana State of the Big Sky Conference. • Jovan Dewitt, defensive coordinator, Florida Atlantic, Division I FBS program. • Robert Ianello, wide receivers coach/recruiting coordinator at University of Kansas of the Big 12. He was also the interim head coach at Notre Dame in 2009. • Robin Ross, Wyoming special teams coordinator/linebackers coach; former head coach at Western Washington. Or, maybe all 41 apps are in the trash, and Faison is waiting until next Tuesday to announce that there are two finalists: Tibesar and Bollinger.
  20. Not sure he's a great candidate or would be a good fit, but this Connelly guy has been all over FBS. OC at UTEP, and OL Coach at Arizona St., UCLA, Alabama, and Washington St. He's made the rounds at some big schools. Bio
  21. I wouldn't put too much stock in what message board posters like us have to say. A quick search of Egriz circa 2010 will reveal a ton of threads throwing Pflugrad under the bus. Pflugrad easily has the best resume of the guys that we know who have applied. He should definately get a serious look, and I'm sure will. I'm still also intrigued by Marshall and Dewitt because they've had alot of coordinator experience at high level FCS teams, and because they would both be familiar with UND's traditional recruiting grounds.
  22. Jackson --- Mankato Isenberger --- Winona Edwards --- JUCO
  23. Did anybody ever hear what exactly happened to Kuksa?
