They are unproven at the college level. Winning high school games in Iowa and scoring points in AAU games doesn't mean sh*t. Have you seen the style of play in those summer tournaments? Yeesh. Sadly, it reminds me of the way UND plays. The only people pumping up these recruits as the 'saviors of the program' are Jones supporters. The rest of us realize they are 18 year old's who may not adjust to college and be gone in a heartbeat, as so many freshman are. The football team has a few pretty good freshman too but I'm gonna wait until I see them on the field for a few seasons in a row.

Am I to assume we are pretty much writing off the 2015-2016 season while we wait for all the transfers to become eligible? Lot of hype about 2016-2017 and not much about next year. BTW, Jones is down to one year left on his contract after 2015-2016. Or, the year when most coaches get fired (cheap buyout).

Arrington is going to be a senior next fall. Some sort of waiver would need to be approved but it's a longshot, apparently.

You're right. I don't know how they could have accomplished all they did without him. It's to the point where the Jones supporters need to celebrate a transfer who played one season and quit to move home.

Tyler was a bad transfer, sorry. He played one year and the team went 8-22. Then, he left early to go home. The program gained nothing from his addition.

I am calling it right now: after losing those three guys (Tyler, Shields, and Coleman) Jones is going to try and keep deRouen around because of sheer numbers alone. The one guy out of the four that UND did not want/need back is going to be back. Once again, that is my prediction but it certainly seems plausible. What a mess.

Funny how you keep mentioning academics. Guessing this is a pretty big part of the deal and reason why I am going to wait for next fall to see the roster. But the three true freshman coming in are going to SAVE THE PROGRAM!!!!

Not denying that at all. I do, however, feel that geography and the sense of pride it brings to see your team beat another local team is being understated in this conversation.

Thus the issue at hand. The slightly casual football fan knows nothing about the Big Sky teams. They are the 9000-11500 group of the attendance total that is NOT showing up right now. Put SDSU, USD, UNI, and NDSU on the schedule every year and they will instantly have some sort of connection through familiarity geography wise. I agree with Vince. I also understand that winning would bring in 1,000+ more fans, also. But, until they are winning 9+ games per year and making the playoffs we will not see much of a spike.
