Do you really think the priority A1 route on that formation/play call was to throw to Santiago on a fade? C'mon people, think a little bit. Santiago was the clearing route. They put him out there, as ISU did with Finney a lot, to run long and clear out the corner and hopefully the safety. He did exactly that. The problem is that Bartels actually threw the ball to him. Luke Stanley was the #3 WR and Brandon Walker was the #2 WR. Both did Out Routes at 9 yards (needed 6). Stanley was actually wide open by 3 yards as his guy was a LB who broke late to cover him. Perfect play call to get the first down and reset the chains. Just throw the ball where you are supposed to and things may have worked out.

Still waiting.... (oh, and can you update our record at the top, also?)

Can the UND Sports Information/Media department update the football schedule page on the website to show the ISU loss? It's Monday for cripes sake. I do see they have the Hockey schedule page updated with the score from the Maine game, which was played 6 hours after the football game. Hopefully, they can find some time to update the football page this week.

Pack it in, no. What do you propose the coaches do? They were missing 4 starters on defense, three of which are extremely important to the success of the team. They coached these kids up as best they can but if they go out on Saturday and screw up the coverage or get zero pressure, what are the coaches suppose to do? Right now they have ONE scholarship safety (who by all accounts is somewhat lost still) and 3 walk-ons. On top of that they lost Studsrud, who was becoming the focal point of the entire offense.

He has been sacked 10 times in five games this year. Obviously, not all of them were his fault but there were several that I would pin on him not getting rid of it soon enough. He is still a "young" QB. By that I mean he did not get the luxury of redshirting for both physical and mental maturation. Plus that means he has one less spring ball session than a typical freshman, which is huge. Studsrud just needs to keep at it and get the finer parts of the passing game down, particularly his touch on the short stuff. His running ability is what is great right now.

They ran a bubble first play of the game I believe and Stanley dropped it.
-
So you're now saying we can possibly win every game, "despite" Studsrud being our starting QB. Real consistent.
-
I will say his QB play in the first half before Rudolph shut down the playbook is the only reason we won the Drake game.
-
If we are going to nitpick stats then make sure to inlcude that Adler dropped two passes and Cerriteno dropped one. That makes 11-19 and probably 85 yards. Not great but looks a lot better being over 55%. Also, I will go as far as to say barring injury, Mollberg will never play another down. He hasn't recovered from his injury fully, is tentative because of it in practice, and wasn't the most cerebral QB in the world anyway. I don't care about GPA, I care about running an offense.

Its NCHC Media Day this week.
-
No they didn't.

OK, just fine tuning my radar.

My "frustrated relative of player who isn't getting a fair shake" radar is pinging loudly right now. Speaking of which, what happened to 'Sioux Nation'? Ever since Casey Young quit he hasn't been around much.

His first suspension this fall was for academics.

For all the score comparison lovers ....when looking at the Drake South Dakota score take into account that quarterback Andy Rice didn't play. UND beat the livin hell out of him all game and he didn't even suit up the next week along with the starting offensive lineman that got knocked out of the game too. To me they basically punted and got ready for Pioneer play. UND was up 21-0 at half but started looking to next week or something. Rushing O was bad though, yes.

Alright, listen up all that are calling for a QB change. Here is my informed thoughts: Did you watch the first two games of the year? When Studsrud played damn near flawlessly out in Wyoming and then threw for 260 and 3 TD's vs. Drake with a extremely dumbed down playbook. Now he goes into probably the most hostile environment in FCS and became very tense and basically wilted under the lights. He didn't handle it well at all, that much was obvious to all. Throws were erratic and the offensive flow was horrible. Here is a pretty good reason: This was Studsruds 7th start of his career with no redshirt year to grow off of. He went 2-2 last year, looking horrible at times and decent others. This year he was 2-0 before the entire offense melted down in their biggest game. Why the hell would he get pulled for that? For not beating NDSU in Fargo? For not throwing well enough to lead them to any kind of yardage? Not his fault they got pounded up front. Everyone was bad offensively, not just him. Quit bringing up Mollberg, too. He is not ready and has shown that through camp. His progressions when he was healthy were not up to par anyway. There is a reason why he is third. People really need to settle down. UND is 2-1. The offense has looked bad for the past 6 quarters but they aren't playing NDSU type defenses every game from here on out. How you matchup with schemes (NAU) is a big part of it as we saw at the end of last year. Would it really make sense to send him into Fargo, lose, and then let the backup play vs. Davis at home? Little bit different situations.

Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton Conversation
UND-1 replied to UND-FB-FAN's topic in NCAA News
Good things come to those who wait. Won't be long. -
If you could do it soon that would be great. Completely clutters up an entire page if you post more than once. Not trying to be mean but it does.

As I am sure that Bubba has never, ever told his players to target an opposing player or his injury. This is a message board - you are acting like Sic is on the coaching staff. Your fan base is about as classless as anybody has ever been on message boards so settle down. I do not advocate for what he said, either. I believe he made it as a sort of joke but it came off poorly.

NCAA To Sanction UND if School Does Not Adopt New Nickname
UND-1 replied to Benny Baker's topic in UND Nickname
This guy thought they were just "retiring" the UND nickname, not picking a new one. All seven members of his family that graduated from UND are so proud of their University of North Dakota degrees that they are contemplating whether to support the school anymore based on "North Dakota" not being an option. You literally cannot make this stuff up anymore. http://www.grandforksherald.com/opinion/letters/3828574-letter-und-nickname-decision-has-potential-tear-university-apart -
Once again Faison is falling all over himself to get Mens and Womens (gotta be f'in kidding me) Hockey their FCOA money. But it's "lets wait and see" with Football. Why not match Mens hockey money with Womens Basketball? A sport that deserves it.
