No, he should not. It serves no purpose. When you are privileged to be allowed “inside”, you have an obligation to keep certain things “in the family”. That includes guys like Schlossman, Hennessy, Poolman, team medical staff, locker room staff etc.

I don’t believe they would announce NIL involvement and would probably have contracts separate from our current NIL initiative if they are even going to support NIL. Just my opinion, but based on their history, I don’t believe they will donate significant dollars that someone else would manage.

I’ve never understood how UND (and U of Mn) missed on these 2 guys. If these guys were at UND, I believe we would have easily been in the tournament and Berry would be safe at least for another year. H Slukynsky can carry a team and can win games when the rest of the team isn’t playing well. G Slukynsky is obviously a very good forward who was an outstanding HS player and continues to improve each year. The recruiting decisions need to be made with a vision for the future of the program. Taking an older brother, who you see as maybe a 4th line guy, to improve the chance, if not guarantee, you will get the younger brother makes sense. Maintaining a strong Warroad to UND relationship is another reason to take the older brother, especially when the older brother has demonstrated leadership skills and comes from a winning culture.

So maybe it’s past time to do a general self reflection as fans. We have a window of opportunity to make a positive difference in this program. UND has responded with a coaching change. Fans need to contact the NIL collective and contribute. Fans need to help create an atmosphere that our players want to be part of. If we don’t wish to do our share to turn things around, them maybe we shouldn’t complain. There is no excuse to lose key players to other Summit league schools

It’s not a personal attack. I didn’t say you were uneducated, I pointed out that you misquoted my post. If you want to start a pissing contest PM me. There no reason to derail this thread.

I didn’t call you stupid. I said you posted stupid stuff. I really don’t care what you call me but if you can’t read a post correctly, I don’t need to comment further. I don’t know that I’m high on anyone. I just listed a couple of NHL guys who were impressed with him as a coach, and tried to point out he has some impressive credentials.
-
You know when you don’t know what you are talking about you shouldn’t post stupid stuff to prove it. He was an assistant at SCSU for 6 years. They made the NCAA tourney 5 years and the F4 the last year. Endorsed by former player now in NHL. Coached at Mn 4 yrs. Got to NCAA tourney 2 of 3 possible years. Endorsed by former player who is in NHL. Built D1 Augie program from scratch with winning program in 2 yrs with what folks here call “grindaz”. Extremely intelligent and recognized by fellow coaches and former players as an outstanding recruiter. He is also one tough SOB when he has to be. Midco did a great piece on Augie hockey and his players believe in him, respect him, a bit afraid of pissing him off but they like him and love playing for him. It doesn’t matter if guys who have never coached or played at the college level don’t think he can recruit or that his Augie creds aren’t sufficient. When multiple NHL guys who played for him highly endorse him, I take notice. He is highly qualified and I would bet a nice donation that he would be successful. Having said that, I don’t know if he is interested and it doesn’t seem to me that UND would reach out so maybe it’s a moot point. Denver hired a guy a few years ago that a lot of folks didn’t think much of other than he looked a bit like Opie (or maybe Howdy Doody). That seems to have worked out ok. There are a number of other great choices others have discussed, so hopefully whomever it is, they will be successful.

I think that is pretty accurate. I got the impression from UND that they have a plan already in place, and anyone else can access an application online. Just my impression. Your take on his relationship with Morton, I believe is accurate.

He has 2 more years on his contract.

You might be surprised Sparky. You going to be the new keyboard warrior?

His Dad played for Providence and was drafted by the Capitals. Both parents were teachers and his Dad was his HS hockey coach. Very smart, tough hard nosed defenseman. He also played RB in FB. Gained over 1000 yds in both his Jr and Sr seasons. Quick, fast, heavy hitter. He and Reed Manke were key players who led DL to the 2001 state championship. A honor student. Played 3 yrs in USHL for Lincoln, then 4yrs at St. Cloud. Voted A as Soph and C his Jr and Sr years. All WCHA defenseman and I believe he was an academic All-American. Played professional hockey in Norway and Finland before assistant at StCloud then Minn. Hired by Josh Morton to start Augie program and help oversee building their new arena. Watched player interviews. He makes them a bit nervous cuz he is no nonsense and very smart but they respect and like him. Gopher fans want him back. He is a hell of a recruiter. Quiet guy, nice guy. Players will play for him cuz they won’t want to let him down. Excellent teacher. I haven’t asked if he is interested and I won’t. I have no idea if UND is interested in him but he should be considered.

Not what I heard, but I wouldn’t know.

Is that why they are leaving?
-
People close to the program said players liked her.

Schiller is one of them

Same guy who told me an hour ago Mallory was out, said 8 girls going into portal.

No, but Seattle is still paying him.

If you are implying that Poolman’s age is an issue, you don’t know anything about medicine, or speed and strength training. That is why medical personnel must complete continuing medical education conferences, courses and workshops to maintain a license. In addition, years of experience is invaluable. I don’t think anyone is offended unless you were. PM me if you wish, I am always willing to learn, but let’s keep this thread on topic.

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Depends on severity of tear/laceration. Complete vs partial etc. Some partial tear/laceration will sometimes heal without surgery and if more severe, some are surgically repaired. and Depending on severity and treatment plan, some athletes can get return to play in 4-9mos. Complete tear can take 6-12 mos to RTP. -
That is nonsense. Not many teams have the advantage of a physical therapist as the athletic trainer. In addition, he has the advantage of knowing what it takes to be a college athlete. The athletic trainer can’t control what happens on the ice. Many athletes develop positive relationships with their athletic trainers. In a time of change, he can be a stabilizing factor.

Garret is a high character guy so his loyalty to Josh Morton and his players is a factor. His wife and many of his HS classmates are UND grads. (27 from his HS class went to UND). Money is a factor but not necessarily most important.

2025-26 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

What has been a rumor that one player “hit on another player’s” gf has generated a copy of a post from elsewhere from some dipshit who claims he heard a rumor “from a friend who heard it from a friend”. Posters here have taken that rumor, embellished it based on other rumors and now I read comments about an NCAA investigation, sexual assault, legal issues etc. If any thing that egregious occurred, can’t we wait until we know the facts? I haven’t the faintest idea what happened and I don’t believe anyone else does. Something happened, but rumors aren’t evidence. If something illegal occurred in December, a complaint to legal authorities would normally have been made by now. Regardless of what occurred, why have we taken an initial story and turned it into a major scandal? UND doesn’t hide illegal activity. Often times, when there are issues, not even everyone on the team nor in the organization, know all of the details because, sometimes, it’s not anyone else’s business. We can still call for change, critique the program, coaches, players, etc without creating more fodder for opposing teams fan boards. -
You are correct. For my part, I apologize. It’s difficult to know where to respond when someone attributes something inaccurate to individuals.
-
I have no negative feelings toward what the FB team is doing. It seems many judge virtually every program and coach on wins. When you refer to the recent success of the FB team, I would think we have to wait. You must have missed the part where I said I like what they are doing. I don’t always defend UND’s decision makers nor the coaches, but so can recognize what they’ve done well. I haven’t seen a post on this forum where anyone has claimed the current hierarchy is meeting everyone’s needs. One’s ability to recognize high standards, turning failing programs into highly successful ones beyond just “ meaningful improvement “ is better measured by deeds, rather than words on a fan forum. My opinions are no more relevant than anyone else’s. The fact that I point out things people have done well doesn’t mean I can’t see where mistakes have been made. If we want to discuss the status of a department or program we need a thorough evaluation of what’s working and what isn’t. What I post on a fan forum isn’t going to affect change in the athletic department. You urge a shift to one that champions possess. How would we know if you have any idea about what it takes to be a champion?

With all due respects, the LB number would be #54. Jim LeClair.
