Oline looked bigger. Blocked well but hard to evaluate individual line play other than Cariveau who I watched closely cuz he’s a DL kid. He is a RFr OG and was with the 2’s. He played very well and had a “pancake” where he absolutely destroyed the defender. Ziebarth and Brunell run hard broke tackles. Fr Randle Parker is very quick/makes guys miss. QB’s were OK. Kaminski gets rid of ball quickly with a lot of zip on the ball. He stepped up into pocket a couple times nicely to avoid pressure Sulik throws a nice deep ball but seemed to have trouble with shorter throws over middle. JTJ will be interesting to watch develop. Had some nice throws, had some misses. Didn’t see RPO’s which will need to be part of his package. TE’s still not key part of throwing game, Behymer and Kuntz were into a couple patterns. Deng made some athletic plays but will need to make plays with DB’s on him if he doesn’t get better separation. Hoskins was arguably most impressive new skill player on offense. Very quick, but also makes guys miss and tough to bring down. I ran into him in locker room after game and I had a brief chat with him. Very positive and very engaging. Tai also showed great speed and quickness. Fleming had a nice catch, good speed but had a drop. DB’s had multiple pass break ups. They closed quickly a couple times on guys who looked to have a couple steps on them. Scott and an int. LB Parks looks very athletic. #58 McCould had an int and some nice stops. Frankly I watched offense most of game so I can’t say much about defense other than the obvious big plays by DB’s and the ints. The freshman K Choate was making FG’s from 45-50 in warmups and made his last from 53.

His great uncle Bob played his freshman year at BYU. Averaged 17ppg. Transferred to UND midterm his Sophomore yr. Great guy. Very bright. Bachelors from UND and Masters from USD. His work with Native youth in the Seattle School district is legendary. He was principal of a Native American School in the Seattle district. The last four years before he died at age 43 from a heart attack, their graduation rate was 100% and they all went on to college. He had completed his work for his doctorate including his dissertation when he passed away.

What is your solution to adjust numbers/money to meet Title IX requirements? I agree it’s important to invest in the program which includes the facility. Trees around the facility especially the north and east sides, a modest sized Stands with restrooms and proper care of the field (if and when needed) would make a nice addition. I wouldn’t put in artificial turf unless absolutely necessary. Soccer is popular enough where it’s too important for women’s athletic programs to cut it.

The NCAA would notice. I assume we have learned by now that Title IX investigations can get expensive and certainly do the University no good. Soccer continues to gain in popularity across the country and remains arguably the most popular sport around the world. I’m not sure a coach with recurring losing seasons has much to complain about when his contact isn’t renewed. My niece finished her career at Bemidji state as their career leading goal scorer and second in total points. They beat UND both years they played them. She said the Bronson field was in great shape when she played on it. Whomever was coaching should have been working with the grounds crew to maintain it. Our HS coaches do that in FB, soccer, softball and baseball. Our FB coaches used to do that when we played on campus. Unless the grounds crew blew him off, he is partially responsible. The restroom issue can be solved with the portable trailer type with running water. Artificial turf isn’t an argument that should go anywhere.

Track and Field has been very impressive this year. It’s been a steady improvement over the past few years in field events as well as running events. I believe the Pollard facility has been a game changer for the program.

Eric said “Huge call for the Hawks tonight”. I assumed from the other posts he committed to UND but not sure what Eric was referring to. Thanks for clarifying.

Is Eric saying that the guy is making a decision tonight and he will call with the decision? Does anyone know of evidence he is leaning one place or another? It’s a big “get” if he commits here.

Who do you mean when you say “we”need to take a step back and actually look at how good they are. I believe the UND WBB college coaches did exactly that before offering a spot on the team.

They played the series here last year. (UND swept).

If a First Nation enrollee, ask one of the area tribes regarding an NIL contract. Could work with Native American youth and promote hockey. The Nike exec coming to campus should be approached. (Gotta think outside the box).

Why would teammates congratulate arguably their best player when she abandons them when things are tough? She has to do what she thinks is best for her future, but those left behind are likely to feel betrayed.

The awareness has been raised on this forum. Some don’t like that, some have responded, many wait until they are gone then want to know why someone else isn’t donating the money.

He said the “old Coach Berry” so I would have to assume it was Berry. I don’t believe Berry would undermine the program to get even. Zellers has multiple UND ties and his Grandparents are very excited to see him play here.
