  1. Six years later, scary but possibly we may be in the same situation if/when a new DC is hired and we go through the emotional roller coaster for another six years all over again.
  2. The cliche is complementary football. We do not have that. Offensively we cannot score 50 points a game. Against middle not lower tier we move the ball well, against SDSU, NDSU possibly USD it will be a struggle (as shown in the NDSU and SDSU game and USD/SDSU game teams had defenses that slowed each others offenses and were dog fights) Defense we have is probably lower mid tier or upper lower tier. I may be crazy but special teams were pretty good last year, this year probably more average to below average. One could argue difference between 7-5 to 5-7. Also our last two playoff losses we get down by two scores early and it’s a battle to get to a tie which we still lose by a TD. I am disappointed with ALL defensive coaches (Head coach is defensive as well) How the last three years went, (road losses should have brought concern sooner) there is no reason for major changes. I do want the players and team play with effort and play for each other these last two games.
  3. I am on board when a game is out of hand put back up QB in. Most teams do this. I also wish the let them play during meaningful moments for a series or packages. SDSU (back up was hurt this week) has done this and so has NDSU. I did look like we played our beefier interior line men but we do not have two deep with the size and it showed a lot after 1st quarter. Unlike last few games against SDSU we did not look physically smaller, however lack of depth did hurt. What I saw in the first half (lots bad) but one that strips out before D-Lune got gassed was poor tackling, along with no cavalry to help clean up. We go from battling SDSU at their place last game of the year in 2021 to a defense we have now. (2021 team lost every game except one, I believe by one score) Three years staff could have brought in similar to better talent (or coached them better) from the 2021 team and we continue to regress on Defense. The problem with this team and teams especially since 2021 is mainly defensive either coaching or recruiting. If Bubba stays, most of the defensive staff would have to be replaced. If not, the program could possibly regress more.
  4. If and when open, look for coach looking to excel and advance in profession. Not someone who wants to find a place to settle down and stay to retire and not willing to take chances/risks to be a title contender.
  5. Not putting backup QB in, in a blowout loss we look like a poor class B team trying to pad stats for the QB.
  6. Officially worst home loss in Bubba era.
  7. Seen enough. Losing composure on offense. Defensively soft. Time to do some yard work and check on final later today.
  8. Well we made up with not getting off blocks by not being able to tackle. Then we made up not getting pressure on an easy TD pass. Those who like Jerry, if we keep this up he has a 10% chance to get in 2nd half.
  9. True worst losses were Mussman’s last year. 17-55 loss to ranked Montana and 20-63 to ranked Montana State back to back weeks. Bubba worst loss was 2017 to Montana State 21-49, besides that worse losses were two scores I believe.
  10. When Bubba left Duluth they won Natty, hopefully history repeats when or if he does step down.
  11. We maybe the UNI of the Massey ratings.
  12. If and I mean IF, we can frustrate their run game and somehow with home field advantage we can get a one or 2 score lead. We can make it close, if not we will lose by 4 scores. Their defense is salty, offense needs long TD drives.! This could have been an upset possibility if we won both road games. It could have been rockin like NDSU last year at home.
  13. They may be getting a little better of athlete because of their move to FBS. ISU blue good wideout was FBS drop down. bringing some to fill gaps I’m for (Montana last year), wholesale acquisition may affect chemistry and game work ethic/effort lacking (Murray State).
  14. 85 to 105 I think for 25-26 season. NIL can also be used for walk-ons as well I believe.
  15. Maybe we are still ranked so Montana could hang on to a quality loss.
  16. 4 Outcomes after this year I see 1) Bubba age 62 retires which I wish he does (odds are no) 2) gets fired (too much money) 3) let go defensive coordinator and maybe one or to other coaches (most likely) - if this happens odds he will promote Dosch (I hope he does not promote within) - ideally some new coordinator/staff, if this happens, I hope with NFL or Upper FCS or FBS experience. Then they should recruit athletes needed for D1 4) I can’t fathom staff remains in tact. I stress the players have not quit, they are giving their all, staff (defensive side especially) is not putting them in situations for success. The problem is either coaching (scheme and or fundamentals) and or recruiting. Once again players are playing with effort.
  17. His players did that!
  18. Michigan State down by 20 in third quarter against Indiana and they have Tommy in.
  19. It’s just cruel, I had low expectations and then started to believe and now this loss to YSU and ISU blue. I feel bad for the players especially seniors who stayed. I would say more but too upset about todays game ..,
  20. And one of nuts is shattered.
  21. Well if you ask our fans about our defensive execution…..I will throw out the John McKay quote. “I am all for it”
  22. To be fair a non scholly team can get big plays on us….oh yeah that did happen
  23. That was their way to break our will.
  24. Radio is making excuses about d-line injuries etc. Schmidt’s last year a D coordinator he had to put true freshman in (I think we gave up 400 yards rushing against EWU) (maxed out 4 games) because of all the injuries and despite that we battled all year until the Nichols State fiasco.
  25. I still stand by my Oracle reading this week
