Many coaches on hot seat fire coordinators during or end of season. Which to me, is a positive because you can start your search for a new coordinator early. However, at UND it is about usually loyalty (took forever for a new strength coordinator) and so as it was to be like Rudy and wait till end of season. Hopefully, someone from strong FCS, FBS or NFL background can be bought in and so we can evaluate and draw in better talent along with a new defensive scheme.

What I do wish is the Head Coach says this is his last game as a coach and the team plays hard for the seniors and coach. The team convincingly wins giving hope for the future and Bubba finishes with that road win over a ranked team.
-
Last game of the year, use both QB’s. Meaningful reps against a quality team on the road. (Every series or two, not what Landry did in Dallas!)
-
I think USD might let us score just so Bubba stays.
-
Way to finish a drive on a one hop and offensive PI. Dang!
-
Plus less field for defense to to defend
-
On Midco, I am tired of hearing how good a player will be after learning the system. USD learned an offensive system last year and had a first round bye last year.
-
With a probable 5 in a row we can hope for a goodbye wave.
-
Not sure if has been said, we need someone not afraid to use timeouts in the first half.
-
Why Seidl on pass blocking? Smith or Z should be in.
-
I really missed the days where we would be down 2 scores ON THE ROAD and win a game. Great teams can do that. I know we beat Montana but that is home with big crowd. We have never shown a road win down 2 scores in D1 era that I remember. (If we have my apologies for not remembering)
-
We need a spark, on offense we tried all 3 backs. Try QB change.
-
@homer I agree, beginning they were flying around but that score before half and the 2nd half drive took out that hustle and broke their will.
-
We showed emotion to start the game, but as John McKay would say, “My wife Corky is as emotional as hell but can’t play football” Players are playing hard. Emotion and effort can carry this team (and past teams) only so far. It still comes down to talent, fundamentals and good coaching.
-
Hopefully defensive side so we can some FBS size and speed….my bad we don’t go after FBS size and speed we like D2 and NAIA size and speed. Keep it local……even USD can get Florida kids.
-
I like fake, but if we would have tried to draw them off and then call time out. They would not have been waiting for it. That’s my opinion.
-
Nelson embrace change after being in the hot seat a few years ago….analytics would say try to score on UND within a minute of a half and a game.
-
Anybody have a chicken to sacrifice so our defense can get a stop and then sacrifice a coyote so we can get that 2 score lead back? Twice in the last 4 games we have a shot to take a two score lead into half and did not do this.
-
This has happened way too many times. I’m becoming unfortunately numb to it.
-
Senior day, TD catch against #5 team in the nation. That’s awesome to see Q get that.
-
I wish a timeout would have been called to give more time to review. Use a time out before half!
-
USD looks like they thought we will fold early and some of the their players may be thinking about NDSU next week.
-
I was thinking that also, seniors last game, some staff on the hot seat. I think it will come down to if we can get that one (preferably two) score lead and defense forces a few turnovers.
