Looking how small our defensive front is compared to NDSU and SDSU. I wonder if we need to adjust how we either recruit or go with a 4-2 type scheme. Maybe it’s our poor secondary and we need max coverage, but we have not pressured teams into making mistakes like we have in the past.

Part of that is Tommy, another part is 4!man pressure with maximum pass coverage

One thing about SDSU, they big, strong and fast on both offense and defensive side of ball. Only team that can beat them is themselves.

If he would have hit Tommy targeting, he missed him. So I’m not sure what rule is.

To be honest if you lose the turnover battle to the top team in the nation, the odds on winning is very slim.

If the coaches and players believe that you are right. But, if we are a playoff team, we focus on the next 30 minutes and not the last 30 we can pull this out.

Frustrating, I thought Tommy did the right thing on running because we did have two lineman down field, then he took he under threw the fade. Need to regroup and win the last 30 minutes of this game.

That drive is why I like Tommy, bad pass for defensive TD, continued to be calm and be able to play well.

This game will be very interesting: Spring Season we looked as though we were to be run out of the place down 14-0 and we run a fake punt got a first and scored and momentum changed we won the game. 2021 a game I thought we would lose by 2 scores because at SDSU and they needed win for seeding, we were driving for the winning score but with lack of time forced costly pick ended the game. This is a winnable game. As said before offensively we need to continue to what we do. And keep their offense off the field, if we can control the clock we can wear on their front 7. Defense will probably need to bend and not break and take chances with blitzes as they get inside the 40. This offense will be the best since SIU, hopefully crowd brings noise so we can generate a pass rush with 4. Defensive success will be dependent on the offense, if behind early SDSU can dictate tempo, if we have lead it may limit what they want and thus we can put guys in way better position to make plays. Special teams need to win this. That’s is a big reason why we won against Youngstown and SDSU in the Spring Season. If we are a playoff or top 8 seed contender we should win, it’s difficult for a great team to win back to back tough road games against quality opponents.

The denying of the 2 point conversion was huge, it saved us from them having kick for the tie. I also felt the o-line played better, but I feel the pass game is setting up the run very well. SDSU’s defense may be better than NDSU’s. We may need to continue with that and use our pass game as an extension of our run game…enough about thinking about two weeks from now. I need to enjoy this one as a fan.

They said Mike Tomczak was an unpaid advisor to the offense or QB play during the game. I wonder how much influence he has in the game planning.

Tommy got smoked earlier where a guy took two steps before laying him out.

Hopefully this win get our guys believing, a team that believes is a tough team to beat.
