There was a pool in the Fieldhouse before they added the pool you are talking about. Those BB games with SU in the Fieldhouse were something to die for back in the day. Many standing room only attendees at the games. SU always had a large section on one end. The two fan bases under one roof was a treat, that's probably the part I miss the most.

Move sports off campus? what a joke!

Good days ahead for UND sports. President Kennedy wants competitive teams. UND sports are the front porch of the U, that is a great way of saying it. Sports are a big asset to the U: Marketing the U and even the region/state Recruiting students, professors, administrators, coaches, and etc. Greatly adds to a student's experiences while at school Helps motivate alumni/friends to make donations Provide a great form of entertainment for the community/region The fans create a passion for the sports and there is a gratification they get back. This gratification is increased with a sport that's a winner and Kennedy is moving in that direction.

Checking will never be allowed, just like UND will never drop WH.

There's no vacancies in the Med School.

I don't think UND had basketball camps in the late 60's, reason I'm saying is, because the year after I graduated from high school, my brothers went somewhere in SD for a baketball camp? Correct me if I'm wrong?

Yesterday proved that WH had no preferential treatment this week by the U, or The Ralph, or at least so far. The Ralph has been very quiet. WH could save us the most money. The swimming and diving teams were added to get us to our goal. Considering the future of UND sports with the Summit and MVFC, this seems to be the most logical move. The AD seemed to earn his keep this week? Was surprised President Kennedy took the AD's recommendation in full. Now the B1Gh in my opinion, is not going to happen with UND in the foreseeable future. The timing was right for any affiliation to be addressed now, and it wasn't; being Notre Dame starts hockey in the B1G next fall. Maybe we were never asked or maybe things just couldn't get worked out with these budget cuts. Most likely UND was not confronted? I think overall this week went pretty good, especially when the process tries to keep the cat in the bag as long as possible. In short, UND's remaining sports will be better funded with less sports. I'm looking forward to the Summit and MVFC.

The morning after. Kinda like a bad hangover. The leaks ahead of time are hard to contain. There will be fans that resist the cut of WH and Swimming & Diving, and eventually MG. Sad time for UND and a lot of negative press comes from all of this. This was a fiscal decision and something had to be done. They cut more than they had to, but I'd think they did it to make the rest of the department stronger, I give them credit for that. I support the decision. We move on. The rest of the U is making cuts. As is the rest of the state that receives money for the state. This will hurt even more.

And the team the Bissons lost to (SD) the year before, they are slipping.
