  1. I thought UND had this policy? UND: The place that hires assistants to be the head coach after the head coaches leave.
  2. Would NDSU make more money scheduling UND for a home and home or Georgia Southern like they did?
  3. Already have been. Dude is like Doug Woog...never going to win the big one.
  4. ESPN (or 2)usually shows the big sky championship game, I believe? This might not look good on tv say Sac St vs Eastern Washington at Northern Colorado for the championship.
  5. Obviously talking about yourself. I let you have the last word then, and I will do so again now, cause I dont' judge life by the internet. It's pretty simple, I have facts with quotes...and you just choose not to believe them. Its cool. To each their own. Good Night.
  6. No disrespect, but the article is already posted and being talked about in these forums.
  7. First you say you only believe quotes....ok here you go (from the same article): again, I will wait for the discredit part, from an anonymous poster, ... (this is from a newspaper newspaper article) What is he talking about " help the board move quicker." new presidents mansion? You happy? Those are quotes...let me guess No you aren't? Guy can never win with great facts.
  8. It would also be weird if a whole newspaper article was in quotes to satisfy a certain category of readers.
  9. No one? Come one people... Grand Forks can easily make the claim Hockeytown USA, but GF has that shy, inferior complex? Herald blow this open.
  10. Does it really matter if it wasn't a exact quote to you? The guy was in the room asking the guy questions. He came to that conclusion...its like wow, believe what you want....but. The guy in the room probably has more knowledge on the issue than you or me. He sat next to him and talked. None of us can claim that yet we discredit him cause we don't like what he reported. Also he refused to talk because, maybe, yes he had a chip, got his point out, but now also knows maybe UND might/will/probably still be a member of the conference someday....as long as every Dakota school is but UND.....money saver. Rivalry saver.
  11. Very well written on your part. You do a great job. That fargo radio station loves to talk to people about the UND nickname, KFGO?, (Wanless, Fullerton). Why don't they get Douple on the radio?...or maybe they tried and "No Comment" to me speaks volumes. Until then, I will always claim, "the UND president came out and asked a conference commissioner to come out against the nickname. "
  12. Standing Rock, oddly enough, doesn't even entirely reside in North Dakota. Wonder why UND can't get approval? like the rest, the ncaa wants a sioux tribe, the only one entirely in ND and closest to UND wants UND to use the their name, but the NCAA says, "NO, we know better!" WTF.
  13. It's a racist policy. The NCAA is only singling out Native Americans!
  14. The Fighting Sioux are college hockey. Anyone that doesn't schedule them are the real losers.
  15. Kolpack talked to a commissioner of a conference and wrote this....but I get it you, a "nobody," will "discredit it." That quote was from a Newspaper! and not a blogger! Who should one believe....you, anonymous poster, or a newspaper reporter? Its true. Learn to accept it even if you don't like it.
  16. Alcorn never had a president come out and ask a conference commissioner to come out against the nickname.
  17. Now that is what I was looking for. Much easier. Thanks.
  18. I get the theory. But by your own admission "the median would be closer to zero." Meaning about half the programs lose money and half made money. Or at least that is what the "amounts" would say. We will never know. And also as it has been pointed out the stats would be skewed by schools like Montana "losing money" on athletics but thanks to cutting expenses making it look like they broke even. So "it goes both ways." I get what you are saying. I think I have said my peace. Good debate. Good discussion.
  19. Pretty sure Grand Forks can claim the most hockey championships for one city? Between Grand Forks Central/RR/UND they have 47 championships! Obviously a skewed stat, but cool none the less. Any other city come close? Including the NHL? I mean "city" not "metro" area.
  20. New study shows old age beings at 27. I am past the point of no return!! ha http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1162052/Old-age-begins-27--scientists-claim-new-research.html
  21. Sometimes politics are most important than how good a job you do at your job...sadly.
  22. "Closed Session"? Between a building voted by and paid for by the taxpayers to a group elected by the people of Grand Forks? Why do people complain about how this city is run? "Hey council, we're going to need to borrow $3 Million for the turf from you guys. Got any change."??
  23. Do you have any evidence of any of this? That most athletics departments don't lose money. Which I proved they do? You talk like a politician, saying much while saying nothing. If not I will listen to the Montana Athletic Director and articles from ESPN on people who have done the research. And it states many athletic programs lose millions a year. Some lose many millions some lose less millions and its hard to argue that the article states if you don't have football and basically are division I, the median loss is $2.8 Million. I know how nonprofits work yes. They can make profits. And So do many athletic programs like Ohio St. Yeah they "sink" it back in. Doesn't mean they don't make a "profit." Its semantics, I get it. The nonprofit Altru can pay its CEO $1 Billion if it wants. Call them profits call them whatever...its money made from operations. The main point.....if Montana has to cut $250,000 a year in expenses. I guess that means the odds of Montana building anything new for athletics....might be the same as UND building anything new for athletics. Pretty sure playing football in the Big Sky will be a money loser for UND.
  24. Here is what I read: http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=5490686 I guess it might be still feasible to build the IPF.
  25. I just remembering i thought I read most FCS programs lose money. And when I read Montana athletic directors letter it further stated that conclusion? I guess many programs might break even thanks to cutting expenses And isn't it all just accounting? Montana St to help keep up with Montana has "institutional support" and twice the student fees.
