  1. Isn't this sort of an odd statement? Anything in North Dakota is pretty irrelevant. There are ten people in the state per square mile. Its one big wide open space.
  2. With the hit from Mac last night, I make a motion to give the refs replays of any call that is a game DQ/Misconduct.
  3. Unimaginable few weeks ago, but this win puts UND alone for third in the conference!
  4. Sioux shooting themselves in the foot the last minute. But win 62-66 Good Job UND.
  5. Sioux 58 HBU 53. 1:49 left. Crowd goes wild on a free throw!!!

    Jerseys

The NCAA tournament is quickly approaching and its looking more and more likely the Sioux are in. Any word on the Jerseys?
  7. The Sioux Bison game will be the biggest thing for the people of the state, and the few alumni/fans around the country. About 400,000 people max. If you talking a sports game held in North Dakota that had the most viewership/international exposure, it was the Canada vs Russia hockey game.
  8. Sioux up by nine at halftime vs Houston Baptist. Game is on tv. Tune in.
  9. I think you mean faison wants every year. NDSU wants every other year. Most fans I think are ok with every other year. Get er Done!
  10. http://wcfcourier.com/news/local/cuts-in-uni-athletics-anticipated/article_2de88a71-7ec4-5f84-8177-0a0be2f98e14.html Even with that UNI is looking to cut more money from athletics. UNI had to eliminate baseball because of budget cuts, I wonder how long baseball will last at UND. With the Division I, expenses are increasing dramastically from D2, but Revenue seems to be about the same. I think its only a matter of time before UND finds itself needing to reduce expenses.
  11. So much for this thread being about the sanctions and punishments, I guess. Seems ever thread is the same.
  12. Songs about sex and drugs....so '70's.
  13. 13-18 teams left. Sounds like a lot of teams left to pick from. doubt they will schedule down.
  14. Ok thanks, but where do they hide the eggs?
  15. I think you are pretty close. Maybe a few more than two. This weekend is the Mens Show. Next is Class B Basketball. Next is the Healthy Living Expo/Budget RV show. March 17: Democratic Convention (this is one of the open weekendsm but I don't know. It was in the arena the year I went to it. But it was like 15,000 people. ) March 24: Home Design & Garden Show (Never been there but probably in the Arena like the Mens Show) May 7: Easter Egg Hunt (not sure where this is at? Open weekend number two?) May 14: Harlem Globtrotters and Motorcycle show. April 21& 28 May 5: Proms (three more open weekends) May 12: UND graduation May 19: Flea Market (there last year its in the arena. Place is packed) May 27: High School Graduations And then June. That makes three to five open weekends between now and June, at most. This isn't to say just because an event is scheduled for the arena in the same date, they couldn't have both events. *Yet so many haters cause it loses money. I'm luvin' it. If just the Sioux played there it is worth it to me. I doubt UND would be where they are at without it.
  16. Not a benchmark for success a benchmark for exposure and name recognition throughout the country. Apparently that bowl game has two teams most people have heard of Arizona St and Boise St. Doubt many people would have heard of Boise St had they stayed FCS. Before the Sioux moved to FCS. I could have never named the champion. Heck, I didn't even know there was an FCS! I have a feeling many casual people don't know there is either for football. Top search page for the ratings says the MAACO Bowl drew 3.1 Million viewers. Google or my search abilities are having a hard time finding the FCS championship ratings. But I found this on a message board I think that equals about two million viewers. So if these "crappy" bowls get more exposure than the championship game (or are about equal in aspects) and it is easier to get into a bowl game (at least based on records). Why not choose the one that will over the long run produce greater exposure? Why do you think Idaho would rather drop football, according to about 70% of their fans on their fans message board, than return to FCS?
  17. No matter what, you simply won't convince some people. That having home NCAA playoffs (and not wearing the logo in NCAA tournaments) is worth giving up the name for......its ok to have differing opinions. (and yes I know the "other" non NCAA what might coulda shoulda woulda happen scenarios...you can spare them. I read this site).
  18. But it would help UND and hurt NDSU. NDSU is like "Montanaesque" halfway to FBS already. A championship erases 3-8 seasons in a second.
  19. .....I would have taken Sandelin....(can of worms) haha sorry couldn't resist.
  20. I was talking Idaho and football. Have yet to see a regular season game of FCS on ESPN. I would rather play in a bowl game. No matter how "small" it is. And doubt it would be a body game game. Probably be against the Gopher with the Sioux dominating. Being FBS, no matter how irrelevant, is still like 5x greater for exposure than being FCS (and winning or playing for a championship?) Idaho, a pretty crappy FBS, team would rather drop football than be FCS. I can be Idaho in NCAA Football on playstation. I can't be any FCS team.
  21. Just guessing but that bowl game would probably get better TV ratings and usually averages more than the FCS championship game. Idaho had a regular season game on ESPN (or 2) this year.
  22. Didn't say it was a problem. Just a trend I noticed based on the top 3 of 4 sports at UND.
  23. What was Grandstand complaining about? He wanted more money from UND? Does he not realize UND could give zero if they really wanted to.
