  1. I sure hope not. That would be a fraud against everyone.
  2. I wish Carson Wentz all the best. He's done the work and earned the shot. That said ... I've seen a lot of hyped, can't miss, QBs coming out of college over the years. And more miss than hit. Not saying that'll happen here, but history says it's far easier to be hyped and miss than get one of 32 jobs. At least Wentz seems like a smart enough kid to understand that and ignore the hype and keep doing the work.
  3. Kinda-sorta-almost-like a live interview blog from Tuesday's round: http://www.grandforksherald.com/news/local/3938099-und-president-interviews-candidate-would-position-und-state-region-nation
  4. I'm involved in the process to hire a new leader for a significant organization in the region. I asked our headhunter about "nine interviews in a day" and "17 interviews in two days". I've never seen someone laugh so hard, ... and then say, "You're serious?" He wondered how you could get a feel for someone in just an hour, and he wondered how the interview committee could remember each candidate after about the fourth interview. He also said, "That many interviews in a day is fair neither to the candidates nor the committee. I'd never do that to a client or any of my contacts."
  5. Same source as above.
  6. Seems some folks just can't let this issue go. The folks in question? NDSU students. The following is Monday's (Feb 1) NDSU Spectrum. That's most of page 1 and it took most of page 3 also. http://ndsuspectrum.com/back-for-more/
  7. If she's qualified I need to get my application turned in.
  8. I miss Nancy Burggraf.
  9. What gets me is the NDSU Athletics representatives who made the second trip to explain the ask still didn't have data to justify their coming back in year two of five of what had been spun originally as a five year agreement. I'm sure the students weren't looking for a ream of paper sized budget forecast or a 200 slide PowerPoint, but they were surely looking for more than " ... uh, ... ... travel costs ... um ... yeah ... travel costs ... and ... uh ... stuff ... ". I can see why NDSU students are questioning this. The rest of us are just enjoying the show.
  10. Yo, Summit Dudes ... 1. No creepy child molester lookin' toothed birds. 2. A bird in a native head dress will put us back in the NCAA wringer (no cross-breeding crows and parrots please) and most importantly ... 3. No matter what you do, even if it's the greatest logo since the first utterance of "let there be light", you'll be wrong. Hope you have thick skin.
  11. This to me is a very key point. This is what are students, and taxpayers, kicking in for fun and games.
  12. Looks to me like they stole the "determined" eye from our ugly woolly brown drool cow neighbors to the south.
  13. Whoa-whoa-whoa there hombres ... let's not get ahead of ourselves. Have you defined the process by which the committee members are selected? And the process had better define which committee has which responsibilities. Meanwhile and elsewhere Ed Schafer has already decided and is two agenda items further down the page.
  14. Somebody paid for that?
  15. Hokey smokes! I knew we'd had an SIJHL goalie but didn't recall that name. Kudos to you for finding the name. I'm guessing Harrington was at UND in 2008-09 as that's the gap in his HockeyDB.com profile: http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=93297
  16. Are you including a "quality losses" factor?
  17. Best team? Colorado College. They've tied UND in Grand Forks and beaten St. Cloud at the National Concrete Center.
  18. I thought UND had a goalie who played in the SIJHL. (He wasn't here long.) It wasn't Siembida or Sedevie. ... Darn brain ...
  19. Rob Port and the SayAnythingBlog chimes in: https://sayanythingblog.com/entry/ndsu-hits-students-with-request-for-a-34-percent-fee-increase/
  20. I hold out hope that the brothers Poolman follow the lead of the brothers Schmaltz and play one season together.
  21. Could this be the guy Ed Schafer obtusely referred to? I was thinking the UNI president.
  22. The speed limit on the interstates in ND is 75 mph. The speed limit on the interstates in SD is 80 mph. That does not mean that Bresciani can drive 80 mph on ND interstates just because it's different elsewhere. Don't like the law/policy? Fix it, but don't be surprised when you're called out for breaking it.
  23. If a team took a run ... twice ... in one game ... at < one of our guys > in the manner of those two hits we'd be crying not for suspensions but crucifixions. Neither hit was good. One was clearly CFB/boarding and a major. The other was contact to the head with the shoulder which is major worthy. And in today's game if you get a major they are going to review it and if it just doesn't look good on YouTube you're getting a game suspension.
