  1. I'm going with my prediction: Kennedy -- initial statement and announcement with broad numbers fiscal impacts Faison -- talk about teams and information Consultants -- gory detailed numbers and Title IX discussions
  2. That won't be Kennedy. That'll be the consultant that they hired. Gay-ron-teed. Kennedy will make the initial statement; Faison will make some words about "informed teams"; consultants will explain the numbers. Takers on that prediction?
  3. The latest numbers I have: Operating Expense: WIH -- $1,492,827 <-- remember that number has NONE of the cost of REA in it (MIH carries all that) MSD -- $358,041 WSD -- $591,646 Operating Revenue: WIH -- $29,239 MSD -- $31,458 WSD -- $39,194 Net: WIH -- $1,463,588 MSD -- $326,583 WSD -- $552,452 Source: UND's NCAA membership financial reporting system for reporting year (FY)2015.
  4. If (big if) this is true in ten minutes, I note that they've chopped significantly more that $1.3 million.
  5. I noted that just now in my original post. (Same source as my other numbers.)
  6. Two hundred nine. Nope. Doesn't look any better written out.
  7. That was for FY2015. (It was slightly lower for WIH, MSD, WSD in FY2014 at $2,029,065.) So yes, that is an annual number.
  8. Talk is cheap; it takes money to buy whiskey.
  9. $2,342,623. Source for my numbers: UND's NCAA Membership Financial Reporting System document for Reporting Year (FY) 2015.

  11. Now that would be a legit reason and pipeline for Milewski to know. Milewski has deep sources there.
  12. Say wha'? Kinda bad form to be caught in "alternative facts" like that. (And yes, somewhere in there is a pretty good one-liner about not knowing where the ice is.)
  13. So, how would Milewski have this before Schlossman, Miller, or Wayne Nelson?
  14. When in Grand Forks, Milewski drinks with the #gobc.
  15. Hey! Doug Woog can hear you.
  16. Last call. Winners (losers?) announced at 3:30 pm today.
  17. Interesting that the presser is at the Gorecki Alumni Center and not Hyslop, HPC, or REA.
  18. Q: How do you keep idiots in suspense? A: Find out at 3:30.
  19. Radical, dude.
  20. There are still folks out there cheering for everything from the the Stanford Indians to the Dickinson State Savages. Heck, I'm sure there are Grand Forks Central fans still calling them Redskins. The word is anachronism.
  21. If the public knew the real costs (and losses), there'd be a big push to eliminate non-revenue sports. State Sen Blowhard J. Rumpwarmer*: "Why are we supporting all these sport programs? What value are they giving to my constituents who are 350 miles from campus and have no jobs and broken streets and infrastructure in their town? Why are we taxing fixed-income widows in my district so some college boys and girls can travel around the country playing games?" I still say the NCAA is the issue. I fundamentally disagree with the NCAA notion that if you want to play Sport X at Level N you must sponsor Y other (total) sports. *Yes, he does sound like Foghorn Leghorn, I say, I say.
  22. The B1G started hockey when they had six current members playing the sport (UMn, UW, UMi, MSU, OSU, PSU). They're adding "Our Lady of South Bend" as an affiliate. We hear the whispers here about "an eighth MIH" school for B1G hockey. A conference really only works at six. Who of that MIH group has WIH (right now as I type)? UMn, UW, OSU, PSU, "that whispered affiliate". I'd say Notre Dame might be a decent sixth.
  23. I think I'm pickin' up what you're puttin' down. Start with the base jerseys of today* (sans lettering, numbers, and the interlocked ND). Put the new logo on the shoulder (replacing the interlocked ND). That's it for the logo for now. Use the new font on the jersey (front and back) for letters ... and numbers? Change the homes from "North Dakota" to "Fighting Hawks". *I do believe we'll need to tweek the current jersey shade of green so we don't conflict with the logo (which is defined at Pantone 347). Sample before I cut check.
  24. To me, once BU got possession that's the limit to as far back as they should be able to review. Another question: Did they reset the game clock back to the time of the "off-sides"?
