  1. Not that at all. Instead it is a polite, "You're screaming at gravity to quit pulling."
  2. UND is choosing to not engage. Why should they. Facts don't matter in the all emoting twitter-verse.
  3. Kennedy's response: Your concerns are duly noted. The decision is made.
  4. Did they forget to include page two of their letter outlining their fiscal plan to get the $2,000,000.00 annually with 4% annual increases to fund women's ice hockey? Must've. Surely they wouldn't have merely groused without a proposed solution. That approach was not what I was taught at UND. I was taught to point out a problem and have a proposed solution.
  5. If you want to fly you put Gersich with Hoff and Bowen.
  6. Because they needed to reallocate resources toward fully funding seven sports when they move to the Summit League. I'd recommend going to UNDSports.com and reading the full release. It spells it out reasonably well. http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=211538211
  7. I'm locked in to a 26-man roster mindset. That number is not an NCAA number; the NCAA number is 30-man roster max. Historically UND has gone with 26; even this year carrying 4 goalies they went 26 (and short a forward). I don't expect them to go over 26 in the current environment.
  8. Yeah. That guy. See. You knew.
  9. Should Chartrand depart, would they use that slot for another forward and go 16-7-3? I say that because Dixon Bowen played a lot of defense in Pentiction. He'd be the insurance against injury if they ran just 7 D for a season. Decisions, decisions.
  10. The guy that left and went to WMU. You know. That guy.
  11. That said, which sophs fall into that category? F Gornall F Wilke D Chartrand G Tomek G Anderson
  12. Historically, low minutes sophomores don't return. One notable exception was Colton Sanderson. One obvious example was Wade Murphy. "Jim" going to Vermont is another.
  13. Channeling the upcoming Olympics as well.
  14. No. I'm not saying that. The SC Times guy is saying the closest games to fill their schedule are in St. Louis. You may infer from him what you please.
  15. Read the SC Times story I linked. The nearest team to fill their schedule now is Lindenwood.
  16. Yes, already 4x each in the WWCHA. What fills the four game void for SCSU left by UND?
  17. I believe Alerus in basketball configuration is a better hoops venue than The Ralph. Why? You can better "cozy up" the fans to the court by design in The Al.
  18. Lest we forget, the State of North Dakota is cutting 20% out of the State budget across the board. Across the board. The Public Service Commission (consumer protection) is being hit; K-12 education is being hit (hence Fargo's recent vote to raise their mill levy to try to make it up); DOT (they are looking at closing a dozen local snow plow shops in just southeast ND). Across the board. Nothing is escaping the budget knifes of Gov. Bergum and the Legislature. So, yeah, it really sucks to lose a college sports team or two or three. But driving on unplowed roads sucks. So does getting gas from pumps that aren't checked for accuracy. And teachers wondering if they'll have jobs (and choosing to leave the field) when finding teachers is hard enough already sucks. There's a whole lot of sucks going around. To those feeling it, I'm sorry. To those just noticing, the party started a while ago. Where were you?
  19. Given Kennedy's background, yeah, he understands cost benefit ratios. He was only CFO of a couple major corporations.
  20. I just read the SC Times' writer's piece on this subject. SCSU still has budget issues (to the tune of $7 million across campus) and that's after they cut SIX sports on campus not that long ago. You have to think women's hockey there is getting nervous, because, as the article said, SCSU's travel costs just went up because they just lost four games (two by bus) with UND. The next closest WIH team is St. Louis (Lindenwood). http://www.sctimes.com/story/sports/college/hockey/husky-hockey/2017/03/30/hatten-column-cut-und-womens-hockey-hits-close-home-rud-scsu/99833166/
  21. They carried 26 like usual last year, but not in the normal way. Historically it's been 15-8-3; last year was 14-8-4. Schlossman says 4 forwards coming in. They carried 14 last year; historically they carry 15. Boeser and Jost are gone. That's 3 slots at most; yet the claim is 4 coming in. The math at defense works: Schlossman says 2 coming; two are gone. Hrynkiw is gone; assume Thome in. So to me the question is what else happens at forward and goal to get to 26 slot roster. Then again, 26 is an assumption.
  22. That's scheduling. That's easily overcome and worked around. But, as I said, now is not the right time. The house must be put in order first.
  23. Compare USAFA MLAX travel to UND WSD travel. http://www.goairforcefalcons.com/sports/m-lacros/sched/afa-m-lacros-sched.html http://www.undsports.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=6396&SPSID=58621&DB_OEM_ID=13500 Or DU MLAX to UND MSD http://www.undsports.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=6398&SPSID=58636&DB_OEM_ID=13500 http://www.denverpioneers.com/sports/m-lacros/sched/denv-m-lacros-sched.html Roster sizes? Similar. Difference? The potential for a gate. <-- There's real revenue; and as the sport grows, camp revenues. (Don't forget Canadians are LAX bonkers right after hockey bonkers.) But now is not the right time. The house must be put in order first.
  24. Ah ... um ... er ... uh ... yes?
