President Kennedy Message on Athletics

17 sports, with MGolf on life support. There's Faison's 16 minimum. However, I must note: 16 is FBS minimum; 14 is FCS minimum.- 2,150 replies

President Kennedy Message on Athletics

The 2015 numbers I have (source given previously) says to cut nominally (within $100k of Expenses) what they cut by cutting WIH, MSD, WSD, they'd have to cut: - WGolf, MTen, WTen, MIT&F, MOT&F, WIT&F, WOT&F, MCC, WCC, and Volleyball. Then again, if it's just hit that dollar amount (of WIH, MSD, WSD), - MSD, WSD, MTen, WTen, MIT&F, MOT&F, WIT&F, WOT&F, MCC, WCC. Yes, I'm saying nominally WIH cost the same as MTen, WTen, MIT&F, MOT&F, WIT&F, WOT&F, MCC, WCC.- 2,150 replies

Nursing school? Medical school? UND is using institutional funds for Athletics that can be directed anywhere in the University.- 2,150 replies

Jost stepped in and replaced Nick Schmaltz as UND's #1 center. Look at Nick in CHI now. That's why COL pushed to get Jost.

Frankly, if taxpayers knew the real cost of athletics at public institutions athletics would be out of public institutions in about ... < snap >.

Direct institutional support is money that could've gone to updating a chemistry lab. It's UND discretionary funds that they aimed to Athletics. And yes, where are the numbers? They tell the story.
-
And that's PCM's point.

After a UND shot, a BU defenseman possessed the puck but was shortly thereafter stripped of it by Olson which led to the non-goal.
-
I still say you should only be allowed to review back to the last change of possession. BU had the puck after the alleged Hoff offsides and failed to clear. That's on them. And it would make for FAR shorter reviews ... I hope.

As someone stated here yesterday: Be careful tossing around "Title IX". UND was unbalanced for M/F participation before baseball was cut. UND had too many FEMALE athletes. Then they cut baseball making bad worse. UND was prime for a Title IX suit ... from MALE athletes.
-
True. They are Division II in their other sports and have far less scholarship and travel expenses. Softball has less than 1/2 of the scholarships of WIH. And the SB coaches are paid less. The WIH budget was $2 million. All red ink. And no titles. For 25 athletes.

I thought Bowen/Hoff was our best combo for long stretches against BU. They made the much vaunted Daunte Fabbro look silly a couple times. -
Too bad the WCHA leaked when they were surely told in confidence.

Faison on with Heitkamp on 790 KFGO at 9:30. Yes, seven minutes from now. And KFGO.com.

University of North Dakota Hockey 2017-18 Season
The Sicatoka replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Given Schlossman stated "there are a few guys who we can be sure are coming" we can make some assumptions: He lists four forwards (Mismash, Kawaguchi, Adams, Jones). There weren't four spots open a forward at season's end. UND ran with 14 F last year (when usual is 15), so maybe there's one spot. Then Boeser. Now Jost. So there's three slots, but four "sure are coming"? That tells me Pogo is more than likely gone, or someone not consistently breaking the game day lineup is leaving. (He also lists three F eligible to come, Keane, Mattson, Sended, so if the departures are more than expected the contingencies are lined up.) At defense there's just one opening (Ausmus), but we know Tucker Poolman is all but gone. He lists Bast and Rieger. That math works. (He also lists Kiersted as eligible to come which tells me Chartrand might be contemplating leaving.) Now it gets interesting: Cam Johnson is coming back*. But we lose a senior (Matty Rinks) so Peter Thome is sure to come in. But, if Matej Tomek decides to leave, what does UND do? And what about the fourth goalie, Anderson? If he leaves Scheel comes. If Anderson stays does it trust its stable to be Cam, Thome, and Anderson? Or, does Adam Scheel come in and they go with four? *I guess he wants another season behind a veteran defense, ala 2015-16. -
Cam is NOT going. http://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/4242894-cam-johnson-returning-und-senior-season

So UND cuts women's hockey. The State (DOT) is looking at closing close to a dozen highway maintenance offices in just SE ND. Let me put that another way: They are looking at pulling in the snow plows and shops from all the rural areas. Yes, ND can't afford to plow the rural highways.
