  1. ... because they are unpassable. Closing Interstate 29 is not like closing down part of University Avenue for a parade. You are literally putting an arbitrary stoppage (albeit temporary) on interstate commerce; that would garner Federal attention. (Weather is not arbitrary.)
  2. Another link ... https://darik.news/northdakota/mcfeely-blog-und-opening-its-athletic-tv-rights-to-bids-expects-competition-for-them-inforum/202203504743.html
  3. What would that be, fifteenth, sixteenth season? If he's not careful, he'll be playing the opposite corner from his own kid.
  4. This is not recruiting ...
  5. So, who would be televising suitors ... Midco, obviously. They've built up the franchise. WDAY-TV. But they just spent the bankroll to get NDSU away from KVLY. WDAY-TV did recently acquire KVRR-TV so might they want programming there? And KVRR has nice OTA coverage. KVLY-TV. They just lost NDSU Football. Are they good with network feeds on Saturday afternoons. Bally Sports North (formerly Fox Sports North) could be the wildcard. Radio broadcast? iHeartMedia Grand Forks, the current radio home. Might Flag Family Media take a run at it? Scott Hennen (the REA PA guy before Darrin Looker) is an executive there. They have both WZFG-AM and WDAY-AM in Fargo now, but no Grand Forks presence. Would KNOX-AM Grand Forks, radio home back in the way back day, make a bid? All interesting. I'm sure of almost nothing in this crazy world. What am I sure of? Whoever gets "radio" will be mandated to have this person as play-by-play.
  6. "Before that, Jost became just the second UND player ever selected in the top-10 of the NHL Draft (Jonathan Toews)." <-- That sentence is incorrect.
  7. I wish there was some set standard for presenting that information.
  8. Jake Sanderson ... anyone? Fifth overall ring any bells?
  9. Right now NDSU has exactly zero juniors and seniors on their MBB roster.
  10. Small thinking. An underpass (not a full interchange with ramps) improves city access to the industrial park as well as helps the Alerus problem. If you're going to spend any money, get more than 12 hours of usage a year from it. And an underpass at 17th Avenue would make the industrial park more attractive to businesses.
  11. That ain't happening. You don't get to close interstate highways like that.
  12. Why build something that only is used for Alerus events. Build something that helps the industrial park too. Build the 17th Ave S underpass. Map: https://www.google.com/maps/@47.9071092,-97.0929155,1303m/data=!3m1!1e3 Folks going south could jump on 48th St and down to 32nd Ave and be on I29. Folks going west could jump north to Demers then north again up to US2. Added bonus? You take some pressure off Demers at I29 interchanges.
  13. Here's hoping he gets whatever Connor Ford had Friday.
  14. Current Top 20 of PWR (per CHN) Team 2020-21 record GP MSUM 22-5-1 28 Mich 15-10-1 26 DU 10-13-1 24 UMn 24-7-0 31 WMU 10-12-3 25 UND 22-6-1 29 QU 17-8-4 29 Notre Dame 14-13-2 29 UMD 15-11-2 28 SCSU 20-11-0 31 UMass 20-5-4 29 MTU 17-12-1 30 UMLowell 10-9-1 20 N'eastern 9-9-3 21 OSU 7-19-1 27 Clarkson 11-7-4 22 Prov 11-9-5 25 BU 10-5-1 16 UConn 10-11-2 23 Merrimack 5-11-2 18 No Ivys (DNP), no AHA (played < 20 games). HEA played about 20 games (and are PWR13 or worse).
  15. And thus it begins ... https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/playerMoves/
  16. From what I can find, Mankato needs to lose their conference championship and DU has to win the Frozen Faceoff for DU to get into the top 2.
  17. The NCHC Frozen Faceoff is current PWR 3, 5, 6, and 9. That's an average of 5.75. The average PWR of the four Frozen Four teams will be ... ?
  18. I think what hurt the east is ... last season. Correlate "games played in 2020-21 season" to the PWR right now. Teams that took 2020-21 off are hurtin' right now.
  19. I'm still interested in seeing how HEA performs this year given the change to all HEA playoffs being one-gamers (no best two-of-three rounds).
  20. Looks to me like COL is hardening up its roster for a Cup run: - acquire defensive defenseman Josh Manson (traded away rights to Drew Helleson and a 2nd round pick) - acquire Nico Sturm as a bottom six grind forward (traded away Tyson Jost)
  21. Why give it clicks or attention?
  22. Well it's worked for Penn State ... nevermind.
  23. Geez ... who's doing their N/C scheduling? Minnesota?
  24. I agree with this. Have the coaches maximized the output of that talent through coaching, play-calling, and "putting guys in the right places to make plays"? I'd say this is the area to improve next.
