  1. UND needs to do nothing. UND may choose to do something. Call it a teachable moment.
  2. 1 of 2 Second one is Spicer. The two players are nearly identical physically, both about 5'11 and close to same weight.
  3. Two players, different years, same team/league. Team League GP G A Pts PIM +/- U.S. National USHL 25 7 11 18 14 11 Gavin Hain 2017-18 U.S. National USHL 26 10 6 16 10 5 Cole Spicer 2021-22 Name the players. (Highlight the post to see the names/seasons appear.)
  4. Where Spicer lands will be very telling.
  5. Any truth to the rumor that Morrow's defense partner was called "Laundry" ... because he got hung out to dry so much?
  6. There's a huge number of moving parts to get there. Of today's Summit 10, only six offer football, and one of those is St Thomas who is transitioning to DI and playing Pioneer League right now. They're a ways away from dealing with the other five.
  7. The MVFC after Murray comes aboard (12): MVC (6): UNI, Ill St, S Ill, Ind St, Mo St, Mur St Horizon (1): YSU Summit (5): UND, NDSU, SDSU, USD, WIU Being the eastern island, YSU is going to side with the MVC contingent more often than not. If those 7 (as @nodakvindysays) decided to pull a "WCHA" and recreate the Gateway FB Conference without the Dakota 4 there's not a lot that could be done. And I really wonder which way WIU would swing. The OVC is bleeding teams; would WIU go that direction.
  8. With the portal, what's the point? It changes almost by hour. Wait for the official roster when the season kicks off is all any of us can do (other than have their own spread sheet to track the roster and the recruits pipeline).
  9. On the east end of the Ray Richards property is a right triangle (roughly 1000 N/S x 900 E/W x 1300 SW/NE). It is the parking lot, current club house and greenskeeper shed, and driving range. I'd say a range where you'd drive either S or SW would fit in. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Grand+Forks,+ND/@47.9162299,-97.0797702,548m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x52c681355bbc5e25:0xb6b94d87c5f3d5a!8m2!3d47.9252568!4d-97.0328547 The facility in Sioux Falls is on a lot roughly 1200 x 700. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Great+Shots/@43.5850905,-96.7590454,704m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x166177a21816cb70!8m2!3d43.5863182!4d-96.7599114
  10. How old will UND verbally committed forwards be on Oct 1, 2022? (forward list from here) Yrs-Mos-Days 20-04-28 Strinden 19-07-09 McLaughlin 19-02-28 Blake 18-12-20 James 18-06-24 Panzer 18-05-18 Singleton 18-04-19 Spicer 17-09-19 Perron 17-07-27 Slipec 17-05-23 Klee Highlight the post to magically make the names appear. For as long as I can remember, forwards come in at 19 for the good of everyone. The exceptions are ... exceptional.
  11. ... in scoring on a seventh place USHL team. He is 17. He was asked to play a full USHL season on a non-all-star team to allow for his complete development. He chose a different path.
  12. ... or you just read @Schlossmangf original tweet ...
  13. I've pondered Montgomery doing a "Quinn Fylling" and going back to the USHL for a season. Now find my portal forward* to come in as my insurance policy on Hain's injury. *I had dreams of Luke Sillinger; he had dreams of ASU coeds I guess. < shrug >
  14. Dude's got a thing for Olympic ice.
  15. Season Team GP G A Pts PIM +/- 2020-21 U.S. National Development Team 20 2 2 4 8 -8 2021-22 U.S. National Development Team 26 10 6 16 10 5 https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=238292 That's #12 on that team. That screaming "ready for the NCHC" to anyone? A year in the USHL (for a currently 17 year old) was a prudent request.
  16. If I get to answer: Budy finds a portal home (as does Calder). Bring in McLaughlin, Blake, James, and Strinden. Run with 16F this year because of the Hain's untested injury in game situations.
  17. OhMyGawd .... but he's #12 in scoring in the USHL! < relooks at notes > No, wait, that's #12 in scoring on his team. Call me when he's dominating the USHL. Harsh, but he's 17 and not top six on his current team.
  18. The kid is 17 years old right now. A year in the USHL is prudent for him physically.
  19. Correct. Birthday in June. He'd be a barely 18 freshman. A USHL year (and coming in age 19) would not harm him one bit. For comparison, Scott Morrow played this season at 19 and Rizzo played this season at 20.
  20. It's as far from GF to Murray, KY, as it is from GF to Cheney, WA, meaning EWU.
  21. Allow me to clarify: the MVC needed Murray. I'd be surprised if football assurances were not given when Murray jumped OVC --> MVC. The Dakotas are in a FB conference dominated by BB mindset.
  22. I'd call that list about a 2:1 hit to miss ratio (just looking at past, not current or future). If this group can hold that ratio ...
  23. Barstool's take on Hartman/Kane https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/3413930/ryan-hartman-got-fined-by-the-league-for-flipping-off-evander-kane-immediately-receives-a-venmo-from-kanes-ex-wife
  24. Fine for what? For this. < words here about a woman scorned >
