Lots of info from east (HPC II) to West on campus. https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/local/und-construction-projects-near-completion-while-others-are-waiting-in-the-wings

My concern here is Kyle Doperalski has announced he's taking a job in Kansas on July 1. He's been media point-guy for Athletics for a while. If UND Athletics plans on doing it itself, who'll be in charge? Or will REA be the marketing face for everything and act sort of like Learfield did in the past.
-
Like I said before, paying Learfield, and REA, and whichever other entities, to do it is overhead charges for each. Consolidating and going to the model Nebraska went back to is worth a try to simplify, cut out a middle man, and save overhead charges.
-
Just hear about that?
-
Geez, at least in pro sports when a free agent says they're going somewhere they sign a deal and don't bounce again just weeks later.
-
HEY! You can't go spoutin' off with reality like that or you'll trigger "certain other" fans that lurk about.
-
Why ... when they can spend it on more stuff for the football program.

The larger media story: UND is taking back control of marketing its media rights. https://www.inforum.com/sports/mcfeely-blog-und-will-sever-ties-with-learfield-handle-its-own-multimedia-rights-deals Paying Learfield, and REA, and whichever other entities, to do it is overhead charges for each. Bossy, now Lefleur. Rough stretch for some greats.

That's the model they used when they bought a parcel along I-94 on the Fargo/West Fargo line about a decade ago. Today it's a 10-story hospital with a specialty center planned for next to it.

2022-23 University of North Dakota Hockey Season
The Sicatoka replied to Frozen4sioux's topic in Men's Hockey
Someone must've heard me. @UNDmhockey just tweeted a "Louie Louie". -
Past outcomes don't impact future results. If you should win 30% on average you'll win 30%. Four seeds are winning 37%. There's an outside factor in play raising the expected 30%. What is it? A reasonable idea beyond 'empty rink' is clear: Look past. UMn had a case of it vs Holy Cross (knowing UND and UMi were in the building).

And now a Michigan recruit (Fin Williams) is trading one ugly helmet for another. <-- Bad omen for Mel?

UMKC. Clemson. UMKC. Clemson. ... hmmm ... check please!

I know a guy who was at that game. He believes that experience, that humbling hard pounding by UND as he called it, toughened up RPI for their 1985 run.

C'mon @stoneySIOUX, you promised me you'd never re-air that outtake of us. And I still don't like that brown suit with that gold tie on you.

Let's use this years KRACH and the 3 v 14 (a regional 1 v 4) game that did happen: WMU and NE'n NE'n: 198.8 WMU: 470.6 WMU should win 70.3% of the time, NE'n 29.7%. That was a 3v14. The 1v16 and 2v15 should have stronger favorite win percentages. The 4v13 a little less. Call it "expect 30%" based on WMU/NE'n. Overall the actual 37% is stronger than the about 30% KRACH (WMU/NE'n) would have me expect. I'd say the regional 4s are getting a touch of help (37 > 30) in empty rinks.

Bill Chaves to receive a 4 year contract extension
The Sicatoka replied to fightingsioux4life's topic in NCAA News
I had no idea what an "AthleticDirectorU" is so I read their About page: I'm currently OD'd on buzzwords. Please pass the Narcan. But I am stealing "pragmatic ideation".- 48 replies

The specter haunting Mel Pearson and Michigan: https://www.michigandaily.com/ice-hockey/michigan-hockey-under-investigation/

Mel Pearson might not be long for Michigan. Schloss tweeted he's not at the NCAA coaches meetings in Naples. Big trouble in Ann Arbor? That's a shame.
