Overviews start on page 95. Specifics for UND are on pages 117-138 (state funded) and 197-200 (private funded). Note that because the COBPA and ITF projects are reauthorizations they don't have details pages.

The ND SBoHE meets this week on 2013-2015 capital projects. http://www.ndus.nodak.edu/uploads/resources/3430/6-14-12-sbhe-materials.pdf Here are UND's capital project funding requests: State Funded: School of Medicine (either renovation, addition, or new building) -- $38.5, $68.3, or $124 million (depending on option chosen) Law School renovation -- $4.35 million Privately Funded (but must be approved for construction): Student Housing Facility -- $19.2 million Resident Apartment Building (buy, currently leased) -- $8.3 million College of Business (renovation and addition) -- $20.5 million* Indoor Track and Football Practice Field -- $19.5 million* *reauthorization, originally approved in the 2009-11 plan.

An elbow to the head can't do damage if you're wearing a full cage and helmet. Just ask Chay Genoway ...
-
Those were helmets? I thought Gretzky and Kurri were Jewish and were wearing yarmulkes. Now that I think about it, a yarmulke would have probably given better protection.

NDSU enjoys being in a weaker conference with an autobid. It gets them a fairly easy road to post-season. Put that autobid in jeopardy and NDSU will start shopping around fast.
-
I believe I heard that the Calder Cup champion Admrials were 43-3 in the last 46 of their season (regular and playoffs). Kings better finish it Monday. If it comes back to "The Rock" it won't go well for them.
-
If there isn't a visibility difference, why aren't on-ice officials wearing bird cage masks.
-
Not having the moniker gets UND into a better conference (Big Sky) than the Summit/MVFC combo that the "Pagophobic Three" currently reside in.
-
The all-powerful Robert O. Kelley could make both the Summit and Big Sky conference commissioners do his bidding at a time when UND didn't belong to either conference. Man, ROK really has stones!

I understand your hope, and here's why I don't share it with you. I've posted this a bunch, so I'll just paraphrase it here: The settlement agreement talks about what happens to UND if the NCAA were to eliminate the "namesake tribe approval" exemption rules. That's in writing, signed by the NCAA and the State of ND. The State didn't put that in. By bringing up eliminating all exemptions it is a clear sign of what the NCAA's end game is, and it's not allowing more monikers but instead eliminating *all* such monikers (and I'm looking at you Florida State, Utah, and Central Michigan).
-
There's the problem: The NCAA now has all the power in this situation because they have a signed settlement agreement. And honestly, Standing Rock isn't going to change their stance so does the NCAA's stance matter?
-
The entirety? Seriously? No. Are there individuals that are? Yes. So do you see individuals or just groups.
-
Sioux County is run by the Sioux County Commission and is a part of the State of North Dakota. Standing Rock Nation is a soverign nation (as Canada is a soverign nation) recognized by the US Government. The NCAA wants to hear from Standing Rock, not Sioux County. It's in writing in the settlement agreement.
-
On Measure 2? Property taxes still exist. Did you mean Measure 4? If so ... Nothing. The NCAA wants to hear from Standing Rock Goverment, not Sioux County.
-
I saw the NCAA's attorney continually point to a signed settlement agreement with the State of ND in front of Federal Judge Erickson. That convinced me that the NCAA won't be budging. Well, that, ... and a Federal Judge agreeing with them.

Saturday night hockey.

I'm tiring of saying it: Read the forum rules. Stop the namecalling (even in jest). Signed, The Moderation Team
-
OK pivitz, propose the solution where things can go merrily along for all, meaning keep the name and no NCAA sanctions.
-
I see your 80 years and raise you 129 years of University of North Dakota friends and alumni looking out for UND's best interests.
-
False appearance? Contradiction? I changed positions and I stated precisely why. Could it be that you're just unhappy with the "why" because it's not the right "why" in your opinion.

I just heard Hakstol (and Idalski and Mussman) on 740 The Fan. Hak addressed the claims of "just spreading fear" the moniker-at-any-cost crowd throws at UND. He point blank said those stating that claim are questioning his integrity and the rest of the coaches' as well. As Hak said, it's summer and they all have better and more important things to be doing than traveling around the state for two days. But they are doing it because it is that important to all the programs at UND that the truth and the facts get out there.
-
Did I change my mind when the price of keeping the moniker got too high? Yes. By stating that clearly the last thing it makes me is a hypocrit.

It looks to me like he's standing in front of the (under construction) Gorecki Center. http://www.undalumni.org/Page.aspx?pid=1921

All I've got? No. All I'll use here? Yes. I try to stick to civil conversation. It's a new concept for too many. As I explained before, your issue is with the NCAA, not with UND or UND supporters (who support the University first and a moniker second). Please address your concerns, which even I agree are real and legitimate, and that I've taken to the NCAA already to no avail, to the only group that can address and resolve them to your satisfaction: Dr. Mark Emmert, President Dr. Bernard Franklin, Executive Vice President for Membership and Student-Athlete Affairs The National Collegiate Athletics Association 700 W. Washington Street P.O. Box 6222 Indianapolis, Indiana 46206-6222 Phone: 317/917-6222 Fax: 317/917-6888 In the mean time, please don't be surprised when (a) I state that I support UND first and a moniker second and (b) when I challenge people who believe an 80 year moniker is more valuable than a 129 year old university.

The Moderation Team has asked nicely to keep it civil. Please listen or further, more definitive actions, will commence.
