No, that was the beginning of the end of the end. Al Carlson's folly was the middle of the end of the end. The end of the end of the end comes when the Honorable Federal Judge Ralph Erickson rules sometime after 2 pm on Thursday of this week.

She was planning on a DIII in Wisconsin before MSU-Mankato came along. That speaks for itself.
-
Apparently free runs are open season. If Phoenix is taking them at Hossa, Chicago should take one at Whitney or Doan.
-
That's the one part that still grinds my gears in this. Who the ---- does the NCAA think they are when they are demanding timelines from sovereign nations? If the NCAA really respected the tribes and their soverign status and their opinion, they'd respect a decision whenever it came.

Can anyone find the link to the original story about SL filing against the NCAA in Federal court? I'd like to go back and re-read the SL filing (and the NCAA's responses if there are links to those too).

Folks, it's time to end the "coulda-woulda-shoulda". It's time to live in present realities. Reality: - UND is under sanction - UND will not be allowed to host an NCAA playoff game even if earned - Minnesota won't play UND - Wisconsin won't play UND - Iowa won't play UND (and has uninvited UND from a competition previously planned) - the Big Sky has stated concerns about UND's viability as a conference member under continuing sanctions Folks, the NCAA has cut UND. The choices are: - act to stop the bleeding - bleed out If SL v NCAA goes SL's way, that'll be the new reality. Deal with it then. For now, stop the bleeding.

Thursday at 2 pm in The Honorable Ralph R. Erickson's courtroom in Fargo. http://www.ndd.uscou...6810thu1ceo.htm

That's a pretty safe bet.

Seriously? There's been one of those? Every time I've turned on a game I'm seeing scraps and scrums. PIT/PHI is a joke. OTT went headhunting in Game 2 v. NYR. Just because Brown of LAK lays a clean, demolishing check on H. Sedin of VAN, VAN thinks they need to scrap it up. It was a good hit. Man up and keep your head up next time. It's clear that some teams know they have no chance other than to muck it up. Sorry, but the playoffs so far have been a disgrace.

So what happens when we wake up Friday morning and SL's case has been tossed out of Federal court because of lack standing in a matter strictly between UND and the NCAA?
-
Yes, they do. And many, many folks in GF are now of the mindset that continuing to watch high-level college hockey is more important than a fight that can't be won by UND. Just look at how the vote on the original Carlson's Folly law went. The majority of the GF delegation voted against it. Would they do that if they knew it would cost them their legislative seats?

Why would Hastings leave Omaha? He's the heir apparent to Blais and Blais will probably be done in three or four years. Seriously, Omaha and the proven commitment to hockey or Mankato and so far just words? No brainer.
-
But the empirical data you asked for show it is a noteworthy factor that should not be disregarded.
-
You're comparing a USHL team to an entire athletic department? A school must sponsor 14 sports (minimum) for NCAA DI membership. Not all of the sports are going to turn a profit.
-
If it is Eades, I'm pretty sure you'll see a minimum turn-around time to fill the position in UND's staff.
-
Just a fine? I expected at least a one game suspension. So who does Detroit send to "visit" Weber and resolve the issue.
-
Why haven't they put the green and black versions out there yet?
-
Talk about a low-bid move by Utah. We (UND fans) know about growth-related issues affecting a player. We stood by our guy this year. Name? Rocco Grimaldi.
-
That was the TV schedule? I thought it was the season game schedule for fans of the Montana schools.
-
Nope. Stanford is looking over their shoulder and hearing foot steps.
-
Ah yes, the 12 oz. curl ...
-
The victims of NCAA power grabs are surprised. Should they be (if they'd be paying attention)?
-
You missed the point. This isn't about UND. Let me spell it out: The NCAA membership gave the NCAA executives an inch of power. Now the NCAA executives are taking it a mile and the membership is surprised.
-
Wrong. You are the company you keep. Do you want to keep being associated with Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, and Denver, ...or would you rather UND Athletics forced into the NAIA and being associated with schools of that academic calibre.
-
Are watchmaker49's true colors showing? UND is all of UND ... including athletics as part of the mission.
