siouxforeverbaby
Thanks PCM, nice recap. I look forward to them every week. I knew that someone was going to bring up THE ISSUE and that Hak was going to say anything. But hey I trust him to do the right thing. PCM
This statement was so made up. I didn't think it was made up. I thought it was a good question.

sagard
Not me. Hennessy just hangs up on me now after all those years I'd try to get Blais to chat about recruits early.

brianvf
I think Hakstol has the right idea about this. It's silly to worry about whether the players will be "taught a lesson" by being made to sit out a game against Mankato. A more fitting action, in my opinion, would be to start requiring volunteer services within the community. Have these guys work with kids through the Big Brother/Big Sister program who have faced real adversity. If the players are in the lineup Friday, that does not mean they are being let off. Agreed. Thanks for write-up, as always, PCM.
siouxguyinstpaul
The more I think about it - the more this goofy "situation" is being blown way out of proportion. They were not cited for underage drinking - they were cited for being in a bar - which by the way isn't against the law in most communities. The last time I was in GF - I went into Bonzers carrying my 2 month old grandson in a car seat. I was met at the door by an employee stating that "no one under 21 could be in the establishment". I thought he was joking as it seemed so dumb not to allow minors - let alone a 2 month old one - in the bar for lunch. So we went across the river to any number of bars that were happy to have my grandson and 19 yo daughter in for something to be served. Anyway - what the two were cited for is no worse than a speeding ticket - perhaps even less expensive.

Goon
AMEN!! Well stated A lot has been made about a non-issue, a lot to do about nothing. Sure they screwed up, but again the old saying about living in glass houses comes to mind. I believe its funny that the discussion went 34 pages worth. I think Hak pretty much set it up that the 2 or 3 players would be playing because he bascially said don't think I have minimized this, we take this seriously, however, some need to back off and let Hak deal with it in the way he sees fit. Some calling for suspension when they don't even know all the details is ridculous.
mikeypat15
IMO, from what Hak said, I feel we'll be seeing a PSA running at the Ralph by next weekend, and on tv in the coming weeks. Which again IMO is a very smart thing to do, to reach out to the community.

sagard
Last night we were having dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and my 5 year old actually wondered into the bar area on his way to the bathroom. I realize he is guilty of "minor in a bar", but does everyone feel I should bench him for his Termite game this Saturday? Obviously not... Unless he was bartering free passes to the Termite game in exchange for an orange juice. If that was the case I'm afraid his '06 Christmas should be revoked and a 10 game Termite suspension applied. Further his Termite coach should be summarily dismissed. The current Termite team shall be excluded from any Termite post season birth for a period of no less than five years. Further restrictions should be placed on the Termite program to reduce the number of Termites allowed per team for a minumum of three years. PCM
I was thinking the same thing. I have a feeling we'll be seeing an ad with Toews and Oshie or something like that. I can almost visualize it now: "Please, kids, do as we say, not as we do."
Sioux_Hab-it
I can almost visualize it now: "Please, kids, do as we say, not as we do." The mere suggestion that Toews would have to do something like this makes me laugh because as soon as he goes Pro he could shoot a Canadian beer commercial for mega-bucks. Perhaps we may soon see an add featuring his three shoot-out goals against Frazee with an appropriate slogan like "..... Beer drinkers own Long Island Iced Tea drinkers"
