GeauxSioux Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 What is the outlook for this weeks game? Is Manke back near 100%? Are there any other key injuries? With a healthy Manke, I see the Sioux by 14. Geaux Sioux !!! Quote
UND92,96 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 This is an excerpt from a Wayne Nelson article in Saturday's Herald: UND's biggest health concern is quarterback Reed Manke, who played at Omaha after a three-week layoff because of a shoulder injury. Manke's left shoulder took a hard hit on the last play of the game at Omaha. Quote
iceberg Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Bulldogs in an upset by 3 (and no I'm not like that Winona goober talking smack....which oh by the way Bemidji beat them 28-7 I am a Bulldog fan) Quote
UND92,96 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 UMD's quarterback is banged up and can't move well, their offensive line is young and struggling, and they still don't have a running game. If the Sioux don't win this game comfortably, I will be very disappointed. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Is UMD still running that modified "run and shoot" or is that gone to Mankato? Quote
UND92,96 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Is UMD still running that modified "run and shoot" or is that gone to Mankato? I don't think it's quite as extreme as it was last year, or as MSU-Mankato is doing this year. Looking at the stats, it appears UMD passes about two-thirds of the time. Quote
bincitysioux Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I wonder if Bubba is gonna freak out like the last time his team played in the Alerus? Seriously, I think UMD is kind of a disappointment this year. I expected them to be one of the top 3 teams in the NCC this year. The bye week couldn't have come at a better time this year, as far as Manke is concerned and Taylor Murray on the offensive line. At home, coming off that heartbreaker to UNO, I expect UND to win by 21. Quote
PCM Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Is UMD still running that modified "run and shoot" or is that gone to Mankato? Lennon said on the radio this morning that UMD's offense would be very similar to MS-Mankato's offense. Quote
UND92,96 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Lennon didn't sound very optimistic on the coaches' show tonight that Manke will play on Saturday. Quote
Let'sGoHawks! Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Think any bars in Mankato can pick up the FSSN feed for all the hockey fans at the games down there??? Quote
brianvf Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Too much talk about the Bison. What's everyone's predictions for the Duluth game tomorrow? Quote

At home, coming off that heartbreaker to UNO, I expect UND to win by 21. With the change at QB I'll adjust my prediction. Looking forward to heading up to the game today. I think Belmore will keep it close . Chappel goes for 150 yards and UND wins by 10. Quote
UND92,96 Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I think Wayne Nelson's prediction is a good one--UND over UMD 26-13. With Belmore playing, it seems like the Sioux always score somewhere around 20 points, give or take about six. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 I'd like to see Danny Freund at the helm for about a quarter-and-a-half (because his team is up so much that they're giving him the reps). Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Well, they just said Manke will be on the bench today. So how does that change your predictions? Quote
Smoggy Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Duluth doesn't like to run with only averaging 60 yards a game. UND stops the run, but knows Duluth passes a lot. I expect our defense to play with the linebackers dropping back more. I also think Bubba will throw a wrinkle a run more than usual. Even if it is the QB doing it. Quote
dakotadan Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Sioux strike first. Short pass to Dressler. 7-0 Sioux. Quote
Smoggy Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 Sioux strike first. Short pass to Dressler. 7-0 Sioux. I started a game thread. Why? Because it was my duty. Quote
BigGreyAnt41 Posted October 28, 2006 Posted October 28, 2006 So is this the official game thread? I just assumed that a thread with the title that this one has would be the game thread. I didn't even see the other one until you just pointed it out. Quote
