As anyone in the military will say “the SOP’s are written in blood for a reason.”

This whole thing could have been a trip to the hospital get checked out, lesson learned.

I think there’s a lot of truth to that. After listening to an old boss of mine tell me the  things they did in the good ole days is probably a major reason we have these rules, guidelines, and SOPs. I am wondering how coach Powers survives this mess. This is a travesty.

Don't see how you seriously expect to recruit players with him still as the head coach. Whenever an issue happens in general for a college team the buck always stops at the head coach

Seems likely they fire him and hire one of the "least at fault" assistants just to get through the year and then start from scratch in the spring of 2027 with a 100% new coaching staff.

are people more susceptible to heat stroke if you have undiagnosed myocarditis?

People are definitely more susceptible to heat stroke if they’re not acclimated to the heat yet. We see it every year in AZ with tourists needing to get rescued off the hiking trails.

comparing a 55 year old 285lbs diabetic man hiking camelback mountain after visitng the golden coral who hasn't seen a doctor in 20 years to a 21 year old athlete in the prime of their life .....

So you answered your own question by comparing yourself. Self reflection is a good thing.

Why even bother asking? With zero facts, including if this kid was ever even vax’d, and in spite of the much more obvious alternatives, you already made up your mind what the cause was. We get it, you have a vendetta and this kid’s tragedy is an excuse to keep ranting about it. Please stop. He deserves better and none of us want to hear it.

Powers is responsible for these young men. Charges of negligence in death, is a real thing.

so with this mindset...UND's Ironman is donesy.....

"Charges are being filed against Dane Jackson after 19 year old recruit dies after being "made" to rerun the "under 6 minute mile" 5 times during the annual "Ironman" after player didn't make it under 6 minutes the previous 4 times"

Negative.
The headline usually reads: “avid 32yo hiker from NH rescued off mountain” or close to that.
I realize this doesn’t fit your narrative, but I would bet that not being heat-acclimated yet (he had only been in town for 5 days) and being denied water/break had everything to do with his collapse…not if he got a vaccine a half decade ago or not.

Why deal in hypotheticals, when witnesses described his deteriorating state, throughout the practice. There’s nuance involved, and you’re completely ignoring that. Let’s also not make hypotheticals about our coach getting our players killed. Be better.
