I recall someone from CC entering the portal a year or two ago but then coming right back so that could happen as well.

Same thing with Gordon from MTU last year.
Entered the portal, committed to UND, then ended up changing his mind and going back to MTU.

Or they were told there isn’t room or they could have been told they will be playing a specific role and they decided to take a shot at the portal. They could still come back if they don’t get picked up. Littler was a 4th line shutdown guy and fit the role.

In a way a look at this as one and the same. Looking at everyone that has entered so far for UND seems pretty obvious these are by design.

Hard to fault any of these and we don't know how many are suggested/being pushed out. It's hard because I really liked this group, but also with their current pipeline and their big strong freshmen class, something had to give. They need to get a little more balanced in grades and roles (they are young with a lot of bottom 6 type guys.

I would look for things to start getting more stable in the next couple years

Brasen Boser in the portal. North Dakota native who led ASU in TOI. Wonder if we give him a look. Left handed defenseman, so not necessarily a huge position of need

Wasn’t impressed by him here at ASU, a bit surprised he’s leaving ASU

UND only has Mackenzie and Laurila as LHD next season. I would imagine Boser gets a look. Would probably play a limited role though.

It’s worth noting that none of UND’s portal loses so far were Bryn’s recruits besides Engel. He likely wants to bring in his guys.

Engel was likely brought in knowing that he will be cut. UND was able to go over the roster limit because Young was a DSA.

What exactly is a DSA anyway?

Designated student athlete

The word is at the Florida meeting they are going to talk about roster limits.

So that’s a work around to the 26 player cap?

DSA is 27th man who was recruited before the 26 slot cap.

DSA, UFA, all the TLAs like the pros ...

Keep in mind that this is the same account that posted that DuPont visited UMN on a day when he for sure wasn't visiting UMN.
So not sure if it is trust-worthy at all.

A Gopher to UND is blasphemy and the world would be ending. And vice-versa

Wasn’t Bochenski originally committed to Minnesota?
