F'n Hawks Posted yesterday at 02:12 AM Posted yesterday at 02:12 AM Football was able to keep Rucker and Kaminsky. Wonder what their potential offers were, compared to what someone like Uelman would get. Also have to consider that football probably has a better NIL budget? Quote

You can at least sell football players on a shot to make the NFL. Basketball you can’t sell that to a kid in the summit. And it doesn’t help that basketball money is on another level 1 Quote

U of MN basketball was believed to have $1M available for the 2024-25 season. Estimate for next season is $5-6M. The spare change they can find in the couch is enough to lure kids from schools like UND. 1 Quote

I'm not sure that it will happen because of the profitability of March Madness, but a Division 1-AA for basketball has never made more sense Quote

Siouxperman8 Posted yesterday at 01:39 PM Posted yesterday at 01:39 PM When Calipari went to Arkansas 2 seasons ago he was guaranteed $5M for player payments. I remember thinking that was crazy. They’re now at $11.5M per this breakdown of Sweet 16 teams player money. Quote

I gotta wonder if Aiden Holloway’s weed selling profits were going towards that Alabama 9.5 million NIL Quote
Big Green Posted yesterday at 02:11 PM Posted yesterday at 02:11 PM In the NIL era we are nothing but a minor league program to the big programs. Sorry to say there is nothing that is going to prevent what is happening, the money is just not there. Unless you want to become a Gonzaga and drop both Hockey and Football and go all in on MBB, which I don't think anyone wants. Every year we are going to lose 5-6 players and need to bring in guys looking to get playing time at the Mid major level, knowing they will probably leave if successful. As we saw this year we can compete for a Summit league title doing this, just need to find the right guys. 2 Quote
F'n Hawks Posted yesterday at 02:17 PM Posted yesterday at 02:17 PM Will Uelman have to go to a team that will hide his defensive deficiencies like we did? Have a feeling he could get exposed on that side of the ball depending on where he goes. Quote
