OK, so let's figure this out.

Top 11 in NPI are locks

Mankato is in

AHA winner is in, loser is out

That leaves 3 spots up for grabs.

Wisconsin is in as long as any one of Merrimack, Ohio State or Princeton lose ... if all three win, Wisconsin is out.

UConn can get in if they lose to Merrimack, but Ohio State and Princeton both lose.  If either of Ohio State or Princeton win, UConn has to win to get in.

Augustana needs no upsets meaning they need Merrimack, Ohio State, and Princeton to all lose.  One of those wins tomorrow, Augustana is eliminated

Ohio State and Princeton need to win to get in.

Am I missing anything?

EDIT: Wisconsin getting in is only dependent on Ohio State and Princeton, the Hockey East final doesn't impact them as both UConn and Merrimack are below them in the NPI and will take one of the at larges in the 13-16 range.  If Ohio State AND Princeton win, Wisconsin is out.

If all 3 bid steelers win, Mankato also moves up to a 3 seed.  If that happens, I think they get sent to Sioux Falls, flipping Quinniapiac east.

Would Merimack be the 15 seed if they win tonight?

I think so. Though it might depend on OSU and if they win and where they are currently ranked. I’m lazy and don’t want to check rn lol

I don't like facing a hot team that just won their tournament first game 😩

The 2016 team faced a hot Northeastern team that had a long winning streak.

We all know what happened.

In the last 10 NCAA tourneys, only twice has none of the top four seeds lost their first game. The question is, which team is the one that gets upset this year? I think it’s WMU as the four seed has lost more of these first round games and it isn’t uncommon for the defending champ to lose their first game back in the tourney.

Moreover if you look at since 2006, only 2 times did a top four seed not get eliminated to in first round.

Hate to say it but after what we witnessed against UMD last weekend, I’m not feeling at all confident UND isn’t one of the higher risks for a 1 seed loss in the opener. MSU has to be on upset alert watch too, with how they’ve been playing down the stretch.

Of course, the way these things go…watch the Wolverines get bounced in the first round after looking every bit the part of the number one overall, while UND sails through.

I had the same thought.  Though, I think UND will be ready to take care of business.  I'm guessing they will be very eager to put a different narrative out there than the UMD drubbing.

Probably safe to assume that we will play Princeton, Merrimack, OSU or Augie?

What about Minnesota State?  I could see the committee putting them in Sioux Falls, especially if Augustana doesn't make it.

Can they both make it?

Possible, but I don't know if they would put 14 in SF for travel purposes, if the true 15 is around 20th in NPI

That's true.

Also: "If Denver beats Minnesota Duluth in the NCHC championship game, it increases Minnesota Duluth's odds of being in the Sioux Falls Regional. If the Bulldogs win the playoff title, there's still a chance the NCAA sends the Bulldogs to Sioux Falls, but odds increase that the Bulldogs will be in Worcester or Albany."

Yeah their performance against Duluth wasn't exactly confidence inspiring heading into NCAA tourney time.
Would have been different if it was a one-goal loss or if they didn't allow 5 goals.  Need to tighten up a lot of areas.
IMO, they looked their best in that Friday night game at WMU when they won the Penrose. If they play like that, I really like their chances against anyone in the tourney.

If UMD finishes 5 or 8, I'd like to see UMD elsewhere.
Especially since SF attendance will be just fine with UND there and possibly MSUM or Augie.
No need to have three teams put there to boost attendance and mess with bracket integrity to do it.
