SIOUXFAN97 Posted Thursday at 05:28 AM Posted Thursday at 05:28 AM pretty sure they admitted this new setup was a cost saving measure ....simple as that... the new setup was quicker to put up and down .... Quote
SIOUXFAN97 Posted Thursday at 05:31 AM Posted Thursday at 05:31 AM how about converting the oly rink into a practice facility? the mens hockey team don't share with the "women" anymore and oly rinks are non existent anymore in d1 pretty much... your welcome KEM 2 Quote
GoodGood Posted Thursday at 03:23 PM Posted Thursday at 03:23 PM I don’t think making the game day atmosphere or the fan experience worse should ever be the solution 2 Quote

Ron Mexico Posted Friday at 03:06 AM Posted Friday at 03:06 AM No Conundrum!!! 7-2 Lots of talk of summit being down - but that T Thomas team is better than the top in most summit years. This conundrum thread needs to be officially terminated - there is no conundrum. Extend Sather!!!! Quote
southpaw Posted Friday at 11:36 AM Posted Friday at 11:36 AM If we compare the last few years of his tenure with the last few years of previous coaches of other UND sports, you see he has a couple things going for him. Most importantly, he doesn't have a name or nickname that starts with B. Secondly, he continues to recruit solid players. Between Brewster, Bubba, Berry, Bernhard you can see their quality of recruits the final couple of years really started to drop. They seemed to get complacent and let social media and the facilities do the recruiting for them. Sather is still getting decent talent even if it's leaving after one or two years. Quote
CMSioux Posted Friday at 01:06 PM Posted Friday at 01:06 PM Will be interesting to see if UND decides not to renew the Summit Mens Basketball Coach of the year. Quote
GoodGood Posted Friday at 01:12 PM Posted Friday at 01:12 PM I have to give credit where credit is due. I said they haven’t beat anyone in conference play and they beat a very good UST team. Now go beat ndsu twice. As for the rest of the summit league, USD is 4-4 while starting 2 players they recruited in January from the local Walmart 2 Quote

But I don’t think it’s fair to discredit Sather because of it. That’s the league they play in. That’s the most important thing is winning within that league. Winning in the non-con is fun, especially winning some of those buy games, but in a 1 bid league it ultimately doesn’t really matter. I don’t know I think we just have to enjoy it, they are fun to watch. Quote

Actually... their highest attended game this year was a loss. So, maybe we only have 300 people show up like there were for the win over Winthrop this year. Quote

ND-fan Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Mcfeely just put out article on rating of best jobs in the Summit program based on number of factors they rated UND the worst job. This just shows Sather probably has been performing better than we know because hard to compete when whole program has huge deficiencies. I think Armacost is already reacting to this story with planned upgrades to facilities. This has long over due in the athletic program. This going to be interesting to see what happens for full athletic program. 1 Quote
Kab Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago A lot of it is location, the farthest north team in the league what does a team like Kansas City give outside of location, i can’t see that fan support is that great i usually check attendance of games and many teams suck at attendance Quote
forksandspoons Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Chicken or the egg.. winning brings in money which fixes a lot of these “criteria”. Also, the criteria for SDSU was their recruiting base, but left out MN which easily has the best (and way more of them) players out of the states listed. Quote
