This feels like a year for European gold. The US isn't strong enough in net across the 2006, 2007, & 2008 birthyears to make me feel like they'll get it done, and Canada doesn't feel like they can win enough tight checking games if they're forced to play that way.

I'm no super smart hockey mind like Motzko, but that seems pretty good and worthy of an invite to the WJC team.

Even you'd have to admit (as a Gopher fan) that Mooney is not the best forward option on the WJC team to be throwing out in short-handed or defensive shutdown situations.
Mooney has elite stickhandling which can be great on the PP, but is easily tossed off the puck and has shown to turn it over when pressured.
