I really wish they would simplify this crap.

Go to 4x4 OT for 10 minutes for regular season games.

If it's still tied, then that's what we put in the record books.

Playoffs would remain the same as always (play until there is a winner).

I’ve also said let’s go 10 min (vice 5) overtime play going 4 X 4 (frees up ice space but not so gimmicky as 3 X 3) and end shootouts (also gimmicky). If you ended up tied, so be it.  If the NFL can have ties then so can hockey.

Duluth also swept Bemidji St, something I’m guessing UND hasn’t done for several years.

I had to go back and look as I was curious too.

2016/17 was the last time UND swept BSU outright, and even those were both 1 goal games.

Last year loss/tie, year before win/ot win, year before tie/win, year before win/ot loss, win/ot win, loss/tie, win/tie.
Didn't realize it had been that long.  Hate playing BSU.

True that. BSU style hockey nearly puts one to sleep. So much so, one time at a Bemidji State/CC series, I nearly fell asleep from boredom when all of sudden with time expiring in the first period, CC scores on a breakaway! I jumped out of my seat, fresh new beer in hand and it goes flying and spilled all over these two Beavers fans sitting in front of me.

Bemidji State is my least favorite opponent. There is nothing to gain because they are usually a pairwise killer (hovering in the low 30's or 40's), they play the trap game to perfection, which means a race to 2, and it is the ugliest hockey imaginable. I have seen others on this board complain of Mankato State, but they are nothing like BSU. Mankato plays an up tempo game typically, has more skill and the talent level is far superior. Mankato should be in the NCHC.

If we're going by the eye test(yes I know my glasses tint my vision green) UND is a more complete team.  UND rolled 4 lines all weekend from what I could tell and it felt like UMD put the Plante line back out at every available opportunity.  So the Plante line and the goalie Gajan is what they depend on.  And when they get stymied by an opponent, Saturday night happens.

And those Beavers were like, “Dam!”

My ex, who was from Bemidji, stood up, pointed at me and began laughing hysterically, which pissed these guys off even more! Calmer heads prevailed when I returned with two beers for the dudes.

We really need a sweep this weekend. Tough to do, but it’ll go a long ways.

If the UND team from the Fri Night UMN or Sat Night UMD games shows up, I like our chances.
Can they do that for two games though?  That remains to be seen.

I want Spunar to start on Friday just to see how well the team plays in front of him.

Yes for sure.

Looking at this, it's hard to argue about not starting Spunar at this point until he gives the staff a reason to start Homer:

Jan Špunar, Fr 2 2 0 0 1 120 0.50 1 36 .973 3.3
Gibson Homer, Sr 6 3 3 0 18 356 3.03 0 120 .870 1.7
