rochsioux
This season, assuming no one turns pro early the Sioux will have five NHL 1st rounders - Zajac, Stafford, Lee, Oshie, and Finley and a likely 2006 1st rounder in Toews. Have they had this many first round picks on one team recently or ever ?
farce poobah
Kozek goes to Atlanta at 53 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kozek > Bertram
#1Hakfan
Its fun to make up your dream lines for next year, I do it too. But at least know the postitions of the players. Know if they are a center or RW or LW. The difference between this class and 2001, This class has 5 guys that may be drafted in the first 2 rounds if the NHL gets its stuff together. Possibly 2 first rounders. Guys like Duncan and Miller will be big time producers when they are juniors and seniors (hopefully earlier). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I guess that I was off on this prediction back in may. redwing77
What a great day for Sioux hockey thus far! Well, it's official: UND's recruiting class: 3 1st rounders 1 potential 2006 first rounder 2 2nd rounders Through 2.5 Rounds anyways. Better than UofMN. In some respects, better overall than Michigan's. Those three schools are the only ones that are really close to UND. rochsioux
The rich get richer. Thru the first two rounds: WCHA - 5 schools had a total of 14 players drafted CCHA - 3 schools had 4 players drafted HE and ECAC - each had 1 school with 1 player drafted. UND - 5 Mn, UMD - 3 Denver - 2 Wisc - 1 Mich - 2 MichSt, OhioSt - 1 BC - 1 Cornell - 1 If you only look at incoming freshman: WCHA - 12 CCHA -

redwing77
4th Round over. UND leading all DI schools with 6 selections in the NHL draft. UMD is second with
nodakvindy
The Sioux have now had as many first rounders in the past three years (6) as in the prior 35 years combined. I think that is evidence of the quality of recent recruits as well as the cosmic shift in the willingness of NHL GMs to look outside the CHL for players. jk
What a disappointment. No Sioux taken in the third round. I wish the recruiting was a little better.

ScottM
What a disappointment. No Sioux taken in the third round. I wish the recruiting was a little better. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hakstol should be fired.
#1Hakfan
Watkins goes 5th round (#160 overall) to Dallas. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How come he didn't get his own thread? Greg Beller went 178th in 6th round to the Rangers. This kid is so underated. Some school should pick him up. How about UND............... redwing77
We're part way through the 7th round and no word on Zach Jones... He went from a 4th or 5th rounder to MAYBE at 7th rounder or (getting more likely) UFA?
redwing77
I hope so. I didn't think Zach was as highly regarded as his older brother, but I thought he'd be worth at least a 6th round draft slot. Well, here's hoping.
redwing77
Apparently neither Edmonton nor NJ have 7th round picks. Down to the last three: TB, Bufalo, and LA
AZSIOUX
no zach jones...7 out of 8 is not bad with 3 1st rounders and 5 in 2 rounds...great recruiting by coach hakstol and staff.........

redwing77
Obviously NHL scouts and GM's should have talked to you rw77. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're damn right they should have! Do you think the Rangers or the Panthers would be as crappy as they are if they would have given me a call before they made their decisions? Ok, well, with the Rangers, I suppose they'd have to call PCM on those matters, but still! I'm NEARLY as good as Conte (NJ) at scouting! I'm the top armchair scout in my apartment community!
