It's a joke when you pay for a yearly subscription to watch your team but you can't on the few nights when it's on the CBS crap. Not to mention the low quality some of the schools put on. Nchc.tv is very overpriced for what you get. There were some issues during the tourney when a few games were not working on espn+ so that is a bit concerning though. You are just moving it from one platform to another. ESPN isn't coming in to produce the games, they just take the feed from wherever, so you'll still get the same quality that is on nchc.tv Quote
Redneksioux Posted April 15 Posted April 15 What did NCHC make from NCHCTV and CBS? What will NCHC make from ESPN? Quote

Lindenwood has a student population of 7,500 kids with a $200 million dollar endowment, while TSU has a student population of 8,200 students and a $91 million dollar endowment. neither of these schools is going to give you your "eyeballs" for more money in streaming rights. 1 Quote

Don't know how many subscribers they have/had but I've spoken with a lot of fans from other schools and not a lot sign up for it (but thats just a small sample based off of who I've spoken with). I would suspect that CBS doesn't pay much to air the games, as they cover all the costs that goes into producing it. What will NCHC make from ESPN? ESPN would probably charge NCHC to be on their app but the NCHC would control the ad revenue. ESPN is obviously a major network and would be able to dictate the terms (in their favor). 1 Quote

Dustin Posted April 15 Posted April 15 If ESPN is interested, as indicated by the original poster, I don't know why you wouldn't try to make that happen. A co-worker who watches a lot of college basketball noted to me a while ago that Big Ten basketball games are hardly ever on ESPN anymore, so maybe the Big Ten has priced them out, and they are looking for cheaper content. A brand name broadcaster like ESPN might want content on nights that are non-traditional to college hockey, which I wouldn't like. 1 1 Quote
