9 of the 15 players on the all conference teams were NCAA transfers INTO the Summit league. The portal goes both ways. Teams are also bringing in the highest rated freshman they ever have. The league was rated 17th in the country based on NET. It’s normally 23-25. The league is in a great spot

True true............but Fenton has a unique chance to bring up the conference rating even more....if he can.

*need more nsic games to see if the summit league power has shifted a little bit.

I’d love to land this kid. Looks like a good shooter, quick release.

Would think think this week we hear of some more transfers (redshirt freshman class outside of Kraft).

I like what I saw too. Looks like a late bloomer too. Redshirted at ACU listed at 6'3", first year juco at 6'4", last year listed at 6'5".

Wouldn’t be surprised if George enters as well. They seemed to be best friends.
Would think at least 2 of Bothun, Doppler and Erikson go as well. Reggie? Think we learned he’s not a D1 player.

Left with Mara, King, Mier, Kraft and Uelemen lol.

Am I over valuing the one Curtis twin? Like I think he can be very impactful right away

Seen them play, they good.  One is better than the other, can’t recall their names now.  Typical HS players, lots  of offense and limited defense

I should have added them in. The one just looks like Sutton.

Could’ve changed the direction of the program and built excitement for 2025-2026, but now we’re stuck with an even more lost program until inevitable change occurs.

Gotta love the leadership of Chaves at UND, where the athletic standard is “very, very high” …

I wish Woodson well but I think he was a disappointment for me this year.  Only guys I hope we keep at this point are Eli, Mara and Kraft.  Let's see what the coaches can bring in! I'm starting to kind of like this portal stuff now !

If they extend him there will be an all-time dropout if interest, when it can hardly get any lower

Firing with a buyout is ideal, but UND’s (Chaves’) cheapness and low standards mean we’ll likely wait another year.

I have belief in year 7!

Math gives Sather a 10% shot at a winning 2025-2026 season based on his 38.8% win rate. That implies a 90% chance UND seeks a new coach by March 2026, unless Sather jumps ship early (unlikely) or Chaves keeps him despite the dismal record (more likely given ridiculously low standards around UND).

Takes money to buy whiskey. Cheapness would be keeping available money and not doing anything with it. I don't think the money is there for basketball and if it is, it could be better spent elsewhere. Neither of those are "cheapness".
Basketball supporters found money to get help move on from Jones the last year of his contract. I don't see the same sentiment right now with Sather despite results that leave everyone wanting more.
Times are also different and coaching into the last year of the contract isn't the big deal it used to be.

Jones was bought out? I thought he left himself. I guess maybe that’s just how it was displayed?

Low level d1 schools are in trouble

any good player will be in the portal

players think they are better than they might be because agents and friends tell them that

i can’t put that on any coach

to rebuild every year is reality and a good recorded will be the exception IMHO ,

‘who would want to coach ?

I believe he still had two years remaining on his contract though you are correct, he opted to publicly step down to take the associate job at Illinois State.
That meant UND likely didn't have to pay much of an actual buyout since there would be an offset clause.

What happened behind the scenes, not exactly sure but you don't see a lot of people stepping down to take a lesser role.

Don’t agree. There’s plenty of cash for MBB, just not being allocated towards it. All comes back to priority/importance.
