Here's hoping RR beats Mayport 17-0 on Tuesday.    For years their youth hockey teams have always played "down" as they know they couldn't compete or have as much "success " at the higher levels and then play HS where they have JV teams on their schedule.    It is time to pay the piper.

It's well past the time to figure out some solution to the bottoms of both conferences. 2 class system or dump some of them off to jr gold.

With Minot North coming online next season it doesn't make sense to have a WDA with 11 and an EDC with 9 pretending there isn't a 10th they don't have to play but then suddenly there's is a 10th that gets a chip chair chance... 

Teams that are constantly 6 pointed or just used to inflate stats.. it's so broken with exactly zero interest in being addressed.

WDA play ins today:

Dickinson at BHS, VFW1 at 1:15 PM.  BHS swept the season series 6-4 and 2-0.  Game is on PSP Network (post season fee included).  Winner gets the Magi.

Hazen at Williston, Agri at 2:00 PM.  Willy swept the season series 8-1 and 8-1.  Winner gets the Patriots.

The higher end depth at the youth hockey level is dwindling in ND.  You are down to 4 Bantam AA teams and Minot didn't even field one this season.  Take one kid off of GF and you have an A level team.  The Bantam A level is more or less a glorified B1 level as at least half the teams shouldn't even be at that level.

Gf just beat Moorhead #1 in multiple rating sites

Moorhead has lost 3 times at the Bantam AA level, two of them to GF...GF essentially plays a MN AA schedule, they are ranked #2 on YHH rankings. You could argue that about Moorhead too, take Joey Cullen off their roster and it's an "A" level team.

I'll call you on that, there are multiple high-end players on that GF BAA team.... if that's the team you reference here.

I'd say that's one of the higher levels of talented BAA teams I've seen in many many years at the youth level. Take the one kid away they are still a very competitive team in MN BAA play.

It will be interesting to see who all ends up in the high schools.

 

Minot is 100% bagging it. No excuse for this yo-yoing of teams AA-A-AA with the numbers they have.

If we're talking bantams, I am curious how that MN Blue Ox team will fare at Tier 1 Nationals.  They beat SSM and they are essentially the 2010 Blades minus the couple guys from the cities (Stevens, Godbout, etc) and a couple guys that either went prep or left the State (Meier, Skelton, Thompson).  They are a really good team.  Historically Minnesota (other than SSM) and Team ND have not had a ton of success at the Nationals level.  To GFs point its hard to compete at that level with homegrown kids when other teams are able to recruit and put together super teams- and then practice and play together all year. 

Blue Ox is a super team from NW Minny.

This would be Marto U17 season coming up...you are suggesting he'd go to NTDP as a second year replacement?
