It's starting to look that way unfortunately. East teams are battle tested unlike the west teams when it comes state tourney time

I'd like to see them win to make it a 3-1 east 2nd round and to go on to win the title...but top Minot teams have a history of choking for whatever reason.  

EDC is going to just be a blender, so getting too darn worked up about seeding in either conference right now seems pointless. 

Minot can and should be looked at as a true contender to beat the smaller single school teams out east, at least first round, but Central is still the clear favorite.

But this is the time of year injuries and illnesses can affect outcomes more than any other factor.

Chip chair chance, just get to Grand Forks.

 

Central RR WF and I still think North comes out of the EDC tourney.

Minot looks to be legit.  Wouldn't surprise me to see a Minot/GFC title game.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Minot lose in the first round, or in the state championship game quite honestly.  You never want to lose a game, but thinking they wouldn't mind a loss before the state tournament, just not at WDA because you want to be the one seed and avoid GFC right away.

East qualifiers:  GFC, RR, WFHS, Davies.  Sheyenne or North possible......but I'd take the under.

West:  Minot, Century, Legacy, Jamestown.  Mandan and Bottineau possible....but the under on them as well.  

I hope I'm surprised.  Nice to see different blood at the state tournament each year.

Minot tendy is allegedly out tonight after a collision against North.  When he went out last weekend it was 4-0.  Ended 4-3.

I'll say this knowing both teams.  LHS and CHS need to get healthy before the end of the season.  Legacy will be down 3 Top 9s (2 top 6) and another depth F against RR on Saturday.  It would be an uphill climb with those kids, now they're really digging deep into the roster.  

CHS also down 2-3 F the last week or so.  I know both teams aren't making excuses....next man up mentality.  Every team goes through the injury process throughout the season, but both those teams need: 1. to avoid any further injury and 2.  to get healthy.

If high school illness is anything like our local youth teams are going through many teams could be short handed for games today and this weekend. I'm down to 7 players and have 3 games this weekend. Hoping at least a couple come back by tomorrow. Bantam B team in same boat

it sounds like williston had to reschedule a game due to so many kids out sick? Several other batches from other teams too from what I have been hearing. Crazy

IMO this is the worst day of the whole high school season (regardless of Sport).  To me it makes the Hockey State tournament into a fraud.  It is nothing but a replay of the EDC tournament.
