Gillan's site is great but It would be great for the state to complete records and hhave that history and culture. They have all the bb info - go figure 🤣 2 Quote

People probably forget about a guy like Mike Shauer from Demons too - went on to D3 and was really good - lot of good players in the west for several years prior and after that played decent hockey after HS 1 Quote

I always recall hearing Peluso's linemate had 98 points and he had 99 which is why I ask. How many points did Phillion have that year, and was he a SR? Demons - family moved after Fr. year Phillion was a Jr. - don’t know what he had for pts. they season but stayed his Sr. Year before going to USHL - Peluso went after his Jr. year - they are the same age Quote

Alleged story...he went to pre-season Captains practice at UND. Before the ol' world wide web...nobody knew who he was and just figured it was someone Blais told to show up. Real practices start and Blais is like "who the hell is this kid?" lol.... Irey family that came through Bismarck also with massive Bottineau connections. Eventually at Minot State during the early years along with several Lumberjacks which some of playing at UMC when they went D3 - Scotty Oliver was the coach at UMC - what a character 🤣 he and his successor Gary Warren - certainly cut from the same cloth Quote

Johnny Five Posted February 6 Posted February 6 They've been standing with pitchforks for this job for years over there. Should've let the man resign with grace after the season. Been there since Day 1...perfect time to cut the cord on 2 programs in WF. Quote

I'm certainly not saying that's what happened here but asking the question if that was the scenario as it usually is...... is repulsive? Quote

By the comments on the story, it sure seems like this sentiment is by far the most prevalent. What I questioned about it is a highly probable and most likely the scenario here. Kids don't get their way, Mommy and Daddy will get the bad man in trouble. Why would anybody want to coach in this everybody gets a trophy, and every kid is the winner, soft AF helicopter parents era of every kid is the most special being in existence that can never do anything wrong? No thank you. Never again. Quote

Frozen4sioux Posted February 6 Author Posted February 6 On to other news, Not a ton of games scheduled for tonight and with the wind and blowing snow I'm kinda shocked some didn't get schwacked .. Legacy > in Williston Davies at home > Grafton Park River coin flip in Bismarck Jamstown/Century Quote
Wilbur Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Looks like Davies wrapped up the 4th seed. Means a likely date with Fargo North in the first round in the east. Sheyenne needs a win over DL tomorrow to stay out of the play in game. See which Forsberg shows up. Quote
sioux rube Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Century over the Jays 6-2. Jays had a power play and pulled goalie down 4-2 only to have an empty netter scored on them including goal 6 empty netter Quote

Jamestown's sophomore goalie showed some really athletic ability and talent, as well as some really nice players. Jamestown is going to be a real tough team @ WDA. It's going to be a dogfight in Minot. (Sorry don't want to offend) Quote
Johnny Five Posted February 7 Posted February 7 After Jamestown lost to CHS tonight the top 3 appear to be locked: Minot 1 CHS 2 Legacy 3 (assuming 6 point win over Hazen next week) Looking like Mandan/Jamestown will be the 4/5 game and BOTT 6. Legacy at Willy: 5-1 Legacy. 5 Majors, 3 on Willy with 2 ejections, 2 on Legacy and a hometown fan ejected. Gong show. Quote

Imagine having to take the walk of shame because you disagree with an officials call. Don't get me wrong, I've gotten a bench minor or two in my day, but you are on that much of an emotional rollercoaster that you can't hold it together as a spectator of a game. We love our kids, we support them, but its way out of hand now. Last week at the WF sports arena in the Squirt C International (emphasis on squirt C), I overheard a dad from Bismarck say he was going to make a call on Monday and these officials "would never work another game". Mind you, this was the #4 losers bracket 3rd and 4th place game......USA hockey begs, and I mean begs people to try and stay calm.....and its only gotten worse. 1 Quote
