I asked over at HFBoards and here was the answer:

The rules typically say 41 games or a single game in the Cup Finals. Stetcher would certainly get his name on the cup with 66 games this year.

they lost of goodwill with that crap last night and couple times the refs turned blind eyes to em...the punch to the face after the cross check in the corner and someone said he (marchment?) embellished after getting punched in the grill...

Pretty crazy game. I gave the Oilers zero chance to win after going down 3-0 after one but then tied it in the second and taking the lead in the third but giving up the tying goal with 19 seconds left in the third, then winning in OT. Not likely they win the cup without winning tonight.
