Prpich

It seems like the team is really keeping the status of both Prpich and Murray "in-house". Maybe to keep the opponents guessing, even if it has been determined that neither will play. I do not expect we will see either in the line-up but I sure hope I am wrong.

Here's how I look at it. Considering the the U can't talk about player's injuries without a release, I suspect that points to Prp having a fairly serious injury. Otherwise Hak could say "Mike got dinged a little on Thursday and we just held him out to make sure he's ok for the regionals".

As for Murray, if he's out in LA getting looked at, I suspect the doctors out there will err on the side of caution and tell young Brady to protect his future. I don't know anything about his injury. I just hope it might be the type where you can't hurt it anymore by playing on it. But you have to wonder if playing is a good idea.

So for me, I expect we'll see the same lineup we did on Saturday against the Gophers.

4 lines

1. Spirko, Zajac, Stafford

2. Porter, McMahon, Genoway

3. The Horsemen

4. The Red Peppers

You could be right. In fact, for all we know, Murray knew his season was over and is finally having the required surgery to his shoulder performed by an LA Team Specialist.

I'm with you Goon. I think, if it is at all possible, Brady will want to play. Wasn't he quoted a couple days ago talking about how they all came to UND to win titles and so far that hasn't happened? His pro career is still in the future and there's always a question (see Bina). He's got to win 4 games in a row to achieve that first goal. So I think if he can, he will. But it all depends on the prognosis, I suppose.

Anyway, that's my supposition.

If this is indeed the line up our Defenseman and goaltending will have to be excellent as they were at the X. While I more than applaud the effort of "The Horseman and the Red Peppers" at the X they are not exactly scoring machines. They probably have about 6 goals between all six of them w/out looking at the stats. If they can do what they did at the X, not get scored on most importantly and get on the forecheck and hit some people who knows. I think we can get by BU with that line-up but we will need some breaks to beat BC with that line-up especially in their backyard.

I think we can get past B.C. too, we didn't really lose all that bad to them last time, except for our Defensemen losing their heads I think we could have won that game too. I think maybe their forwards might be alittle better but our defensive crew is second to none to any team right now in NCAA hockey. Plus they are P!$$ed off, I think they could do some damage.

I really think after the Sioux beat BU, Columbus is just a short commute away. BC is quite small upfront: I think our Dmen beat them into submission early and they fold like the Goofies did in the FF 3rd place game.

The biggest KEY will be if the zebras let our d-men pound them into submission without calling ticky tack penalties. If the d are allowed to play physical within the rules then they should be fine but we cannot take numerous penalties and get down 5-3 like we did against the Goofies and expect to get away with it in a one and done format. It is fine to take penalties to prevent good scoring chances but the needless ones with the sticks will send you home.

Good point DAR.

As to the stickwork, I've been reading at GPL and USCHO how "dirty" the Sioux are, especially with the slash. The jungle drums went so far as to blame Goligoski's broken hand on a Sioux slash. Imagine my surprise while perusing the Minnesota Daily today when I read AG say he broke his hand "when he hit has hand on the boards" Saturday.

Obviously the person who painted those boards was a UND fan. :):0

That said, I think Goligoski has been a very nice addition the Minnesota D. Hopefully, some NHL team drafts his ass and takes him away. ;)

He was taken in the 2nd round I believe. He is a decent player but nothing to fear IMO.
