Have we lost Recruits because they have got an NIL deal somewhere else?  Unless you are going to move UND out of Grand Forks you are going to deal with same limitations no matter what conference they are in.

probably a good question for schloss about NIL but it's here and we have a hard time coming up with corporate money already for our "other" sports....

we seem to be losing good recruits for other schools in the last couple of years so i do wonder if money is one of them?

Here is the corrected version for you all.

Here is an on-campus post-season format for the NCHC if we added St. Thomas:

Quarterfinal Round

The last place team is eliminated from post-season contention.

The other eight teams are matched up by regular season finish:

#1 hosts #8 in two out of three game series (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

#2 hosts #7 in two out of three game series (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

#3 hosts #6 in two out of three game series (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

#4 hosts #5 in two out of three game series (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Semifinal Round

Highest remaining seed hosts lowest remaining seed in two out of three game series (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Second highest remaining seed hosts second lowest remaining seed in two out of three game series (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).

Finals

Highest remaining seed hosts lowest remaining seed in two out of three game series (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)*.

*Final Series is pushed back one day to avoid conflicting with Selection Sunday.

If we stay at 8 teams, everyone will be included in the Quarterfinals and everything else stays the same.

For me, that's potentially way too many games for your top two teams to play right before the NCAA tournament.  They'd be on fumes when they should be fresh.

We could go back to the old two-game total goal series (a 120 minute game spread over two nights), but I was never a big fan of that.

Since we are throwing things out there...

Bottom 4, season over.  Top 4 single game elimination at barn of highest bid from previous seasons top 4.  Extra week rest for regional

Not a bad idea.

Would never happen.  Give your top 12 in Pairwise week off.  Remaining teams go to Arena of highest remaining team and play for Conference auto bid.  Gets the Conference extra bid and the teams already in get week off.

So 1 autobid available in a 50ish team tournament,  seems time challenging.

No, I'm talking about a NCHC Tourney.  i.e this year all teams expected SCSU, Denver, with W. Michigan report to Omaha this year.  Play 5 team tourney with winner getting the autobid.

Oh, "top 12 in pairwise" led me astray...

What is the point of this outside of excluding a team while managing to lengthen the Nchc tournament by an extra weekend and a bunch of extra games?

Not opposed to change, but why try to burn out whoever wins?
