PCM
It's time to focus on UND's next series. Brian Cavenaugh, coach of the Canisius Golden Griffins for 24 years, was fired last Friday. According to a story at USCHO: It was rumored by numerous sources that the Canisius players were planning a revolt against the veteran coach and had told Dillon that if something wasn't done they wouldn't play tonight's game at Mercyhurst. There was no indication of what might have fueled this anarchistic attitude among the players. Here's a story on Cavenaugh's firing from the Buffalo News. Canisius beat Mercyhurst 4-3 Friday and tied 2-2 Saturday. The Griffs lead the Atlantic Hockey Conference with a 7-2-1 record.

Mad Man
Stafford starts practicing with the WJ team on Thursday. Does this mean that he won't be playing for the Sioux this weekend. I know on Sunday he will definitely be playing for team USA, but does anyone know if he will be playing with the Sioux on Friday and Saturday or be watching from the stands with the rest of team USA? nodakvindy
A loss to Canisius would be as shocking as the loss to US International over the holidays during the 86-87 season. Although if it resulted in the season ending the same way I would gladly take it.
AZSIOUX
it sounded like he will not play this weekend from the broadcasts last night. he will be with USA. i may be wrong so someone else can confirm this...
Goon
I predict a split. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> According to someone that saw them play this year apparently they are so bad if UND loses to them we too suck.

It would be as bad as BC losing to Harvard.... oh wait. They did.
Poncho & Lefty
Don't count your eggs before they hatch fellaz, the players threatened for a revolt, they'll do anything to go and take points from a big time program like the guys in green. jloos
Isn't the Golden Griffins the name of Harry Potter's house? Maybe Canisious is the American wizard school. That would explain Jon Durno, maybe he really is a Wookie? Or some sort of Ogre like the big guy that is friends with Harry Potter.
dj_hoime
I predict a split. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If we lose to Canisius i wont go to another game this year. Do they still have that guy with the long hair that was kicked out of the game a few years ago.

PCM
Yikes! Still more problems for Canisius. Here's an article from INCH. EDIT: "...exposing himself at Jim's Steak-Out"? If that's not an opportunity for a sign, I don't know what is!

dagies
HAHAHA! Reading the article PCM linked, I could hear my mother's voice in the background. This is what she'd say just about any time some kid would get into trouble. "Makes you wonder if drugs or alcohol were involved"
Diggler
So this guy also punched a cop? Because of this, I think it is our job as students to protect the cop in the penalty box should Bognar the Exposure get a penalty. We need to bring mace and rubber bullets. We must protect Russ and Co.!!!

You were close though. That would be funny to see a sign that says Hey Jon Durno, why don't you go and try out for quidditch practices instead??
