Fargo, 0600 hours, Fri Jul 14:

Nine hours later ...

And the public has been told next to nothing, and in one way the wrong thing. (They could be related but at the time not necessarily so)

Were these two events associated or unrelated? Retaliation? (As a civilian we need to worry about if we are in danger/public threat or not)

Why were the FBI, the ATF, US Marshals, and ND BCI all at the shooter's apartment an hour after?  (Standard protocol when other elements exist, the public does not need to be informed of this unless there is a public risk).
Why was the entire complex evacuated for 12+ hours after law enforcement arrival? (Standard protocol when other elements exist, the public does not need to be informed of this unless there is a public risk).  I was just at a Marriott in Maple Grove that was evacuated for 3 hours just for a power outage.
Why was Fargo Fire called in for a boom truck to look before entry?  Fargo has a fair amount of crime these last few years, doesn't matter if the crimes are related or not.  The incident on 25th didn't even involve the suspect being in the car accident.
Why was a robot and a drone deployed before entry? I'll repeat the above, but obviously drugs etc are involved as well as a danger to the public.

We have a shooter's name, but no photo, 60 hours later?  The shooter is deceased.  Unless you want to make a shrine of the shooter, who gives a crap.
Yet the (weak press conference, weaker presence) chief says he was "known" to FPD? Many are known to the LE and are under suspicion.  If I were a moderator on this sight and saw this post you would not be "known" to siouxsports.com.  Anybody with a past arrest etc is "known".

How are the civilian by-standers that were hurt in the events? Critical but stable, but that is up to the family to decide what is known to the public.

How does FPD and Mayor Mahoney respond to the AM1100 The Flag Saturday afternoon question, "Is Fargo safe?", after this, and Jupiter Paulson, and a 16 year old in May.   You may want to be in line to ask that question.

Are we going to let this be put down the "Vegas Route 91" memory hole also?

I responded in bold text.  There are no easy answers.  Josh Owen (Pope Deputy) was a friend of mine and we were on many calls together.  Simple DA case and he paid the ultimate price.  Law Enforcement has little authority to do their job but the "freedom of press" can do whatever they want.  Sic, between your posts on bisonville and this one......realize what is in your control and what is not.  The public will be informed on a need to know basis.

For a chief that talked "transparency" to get the job, it was a 24 hour wait to see him at a podium.
https://www.kvrr.com/2020/08/20/committee-recommends-david-zibolski-become-next-fargo-police-chief/

And when he was there, each member of the media got one turn at the microphone. If you didn't know that you got one question and were done and that's straight from the WZFG/WDAY-AM reporter at the press conference.

The city wanted, no, still wants, to know what is going on.

Mayor Mahoney did a better job giving answers.

Cheif Zibolski was out of town and had to be flown back to Fargo. The reason for little information right now is because there is an investigation that needs to be completed. Answers will come in due time.

I don't disagree with you.  But their is a protocol established for situations like this.  Please respect the families.

Sic posts on Bisonville quite a bit.   He is always respective and is a good ambassador of our sight but crossed the line in my opinion.  He's an admin of this sight and does the best for the Sioux community.

what line did he cross......the majority of people that i talk to about this are totally confused as to what happened which is not a good thing regardless of whether you call it an investigation or as some people might call it a coverup.

I've posted nothing on this topic at B'ville, only here. Look for yourself. I'm not sure they are even talking about it.

My questions are questions the media and the community are asking, including local radio.

To my mind, the line that was crossed was naming (including photo) the officer that ended the situation. That is reckless at best.

Absent the chief (who yes was away), putting a police PIO at a microphone before the conveyance at 9PM from Sanford to the CC Coroner's Office would have been correct.  A simple one sentence (no questions) statement, fallen officer, no name until notifications, was all that was needed.

Local TV media ("kids" on a Friday night) either were speculating or had no clue.

A twitter statement from FPD came about midnight.

I'm still waiting for the Fargo PD to figure out the crime of Tom Bearson.

Those answers in "due time" still hasn't come yet!

How many killers are walking free in the FM area?

Are you claiming something else? His foundation site says, "Tom was at NDSU for only four short weeks when he was murdered on September 20, 2014. At the time of this posting, the specifics to Tom’s death have not been released, ... "

He was last seen in Fargo leaving a party (from media report).

Multiple agency investigation.

Missing person in Fargo.

Body found across river.

Quote

While the Moorhead Police Department is unable to release specific information about the investigation, Jacobson said six investigators were sent to the FBI Training Center in West Virginia in July to review the case with professionals from the FBI Behavioral Analysis Unit. The six officers included an FBI agent from Fargo, a Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension agent, two investigators from the Moorhead Police Department and two investigators from the Fargo Police Department.

When teenage girls are safer going to WeFest vs Walmart on 13th Ave or downtown for ice cream after dark there's issues.

I’ve witnessed crimes in that Walmart lot. I avoid it ever since.

WDAY TV just said “the State and Feds” have taken over the investigation.

State, sure; but Feds? What makes this Federal?

Muslim + planned ambush on police = domestic terrorism
