I like the idea but wouldn’t 12 teams be better then 8. They could just do 2 super regionals.

8 teams Thursday, Friday, Sunday at a single site and it might make sense.  Shootout if needed so no marathon OTs. Something to kill time during Final Four weekend.  Maybe also use it as an opportunity to test rule changes for the following year.  WCHA, ECAC and Atlantic Hockey teams especially would appreciate opportunities to play name programs. Not the best idea in the world, but also not the worst.  No different than the NIT, CIT et al and most of the garbage bowl games.

Or 2 4 team sites to demonstrate the efficacy of top seed regionals. When it is outdrawing regionals there's a very clear data point against neutral sites.

Last night in a word: YIKES!

That's why I cringe when teams hog pile after they win a championship.  Seems like high school teams are the least cautious when jumping headlong into a pile.

Didn't see this before...former CC player that had transferred to PSU:

In addition, Penn State forward Ben Copeland signed an AHL contract over the semester break with the Cleveland Monsters. Copeland, who transferred from Colorado College two years ago, had one goal in five appearances in the first half of the season.

The 23-year-old Minnesota native finished his NCAA career with 74 points (24g, 50a) in 123 games.
