Wilbur Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 UND lost a legend yesterday as Reggie 'Reg' Morelli passed away. I grew up in the Minot hockey community and he was always first class to my family, and the same with his kids and grand kids. I played men's league with his son Matt, and got to know his grandson Mason pretty well while working at MAYSA arena. RIP. 3 Quote

sioux rube Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 I coached with his son Matt when my daughter and Matt’s son Mason played on a AAA team together for 2 summers back in the day. Got to know Reg back then and could always count on him to purchase Sioux tickets when needed. Just a great family. Rest In Peace Reg Quote

Siouxperfan7 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 The Godfather of UND hockey. Not just for what he did for the program on the ice, but more importantly what he did off the ice. RIP Quote

Blackheart Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 As the story goes, he and Ralph gave the 2000 team a pep talk b4 the finals... 2 Quote

Popular Post Old Barn Guy at Home Posted November 15, 2020 Popular Post Posted November 15, 2020 Reg was a special person. Not only as a player, but his commitment to hockey at all levels was unmatched. I have to date myself, but I did play against Reg when he was living in Crookston and played for their am. team the Pirates. I was in college, playing for the Blazers, and he turned me inside out and scored on a one on one goal. When I would see him at UND games or State High School Tournament games, he would always come over and say "Hi" and I would always remind him of how he totally burned me on that play, even though he was about a dozen years older than me. My condolences to his family, and may he RIP. 6 Quote
