SWSiouxMN Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 After UND came oh so close to a home sweep of the Montana schools, they will hit the road this week. First up, a NAU team that has surprised for all the wrong reason this year. Cannot understate these two important facts 1) Only meeting with NAU this year, so a must win for tiebreaker purposes 2) Winnable road game. Must have to stay in good shape for a top 4 seed Other Games UNC (2-4) @ SUU (2-4) Idaho (3-2) @ Mont (6-0) EWU (3-2) @ MSU (2-4) Weber, ISU, Sac State and PSU are all off and will play travel partners on Saturday. My expectations: To win and go for the road sweep this weekend. Quote

hoops44 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 NAZ with 7 of their top 9 being freshman is a very winnable game . Quote
hoops44 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Game opens up at pick em... hopefully Jones will bring some milk and cookies to share with coach Jack Murphy after the game to the trollsters here will not attack him for not being Mr Rogers after the game 1 4 Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 I would like this thread to be about the game. So on all sides... Stop it! 2 Quote
Siouxphan27 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Played a couple good basketball games last weekend and I expect that trend to continue. We need to win tomorrow night; there are a lot tougher road games that lie ahead, so make this opportunity count. No lapses defensively and we'll win this one by 15+ Go Fighting Hawks! Talons Down! Beaks Up! 1 Quote
hoops44 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I think Quinton Hooker is one of the top five players in the conference,” N. AZ Coach Murphy said. “I felt it was a shame, and I am partly responsible -- as all the coaches are -- that he wasn’t all-conference last year in some capacity.” He is a very good player and he has developed really nicely,” Murphy said. “Coach (Brian) Jones has done a great job with him. He was the only freshman on that team a couple years ago that had so many seniors. Then last year as a sophomore I thought he really developed and this year he has developed into one of the best players in the league.” “They do a good job in the gaps, they will switch up their defenses, they will play a little zone,” Murphy said. “They have always been aggressive defensively and really give you different looks.” Quote
F'n Hawks Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 My prediction 72-61 Fighting Hawks, Crandall and Hooker will be to strong too handle Quote

siouxfan512 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Minneapolis area - The game will be on cable on Fox College Sports Pacific. Not sure of the channel, I think it is 173 or 174 for me. Quote
UNDhoops Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 im more worried than most. all road games are tough. but i think UNDs backcourt will stifle Yanku enough to give us the win. 63-61 or so Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 I see this being similar to ISU About a 10-15 point win for UND. I'll go 77-63 Quote
Cratter Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 UND opened the game 12-0. Let's not #choke. Quote
F'n Hawks Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 UND up 17-5 with 15:21 left in the first half... Looks like a packed house there Quote
F'n Hawks Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 UND up 31-19 with 7:40 left in the half. Avants has made two threes Quote

siouxfan512 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Well, I watch UND Basketball as much as I can, but I am by no stretch a great basketball mind. Hell, there is plenty about the game I just don't understand, and haven't ever tried to learn, but I've found this to be a very entertaining half. - Hope to see Baldwin keep hitting 3's like that. Heck hope to see everyone keep hitting 3's like this. - Really impressed with Yanku for NAU - Pretty entertaining play by play guy. Really unbiased, and has some pretty entertaining calls. Quote
Cratter Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I like NAU's nickname better than UND's. .....but that's not saying much. 1 Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 Avants needs to get more minutes than Shanks. He just provides so much more on both ends. 1 Quote
siouxfan512 Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 and Boom goes the dynamite! Mcdermott! Quote

F'n Hawks Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 UND up 46-25 at the half. The boys are ballin Quote
F'n Hawks Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 That's what Q probably should have done against NDSU and Montana 1 Quote
