darell1976
The Sun Belt board says they are the pick over EKU. The Commish is visiting there this month and a bowl game is possible an hour down the road in Charleston. could they play a "home" game in Charleston kinda like UMass does at Gillette Stadium and count that towards the 15k requirement? But the Coastal coach is actually a billionaire from his days with Merril Lynch, TD Bank and helped launch TDAmeritrade. When he retired, he took a volunteer asst job with Nebraska, coached an Omaha UFL team, and then became head coach at Coastal. Coastal won't have any trouble raising money for a stadium expansion. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Moglia Edited August 3, 2015 by SiouxVolley
SiouxVolley
Horry County, where Coastal is located (which includes Myrtle Beach), has a 1% sales tax dedicated to educational improve educational improvements, and a percentage of that goes to Coastal Carolina. Coastal has an estimated $50 mill to spend on improvements as it see fit. http://grandstrand.happeningmag.com/myrtle-beach-sales-taxes/

SiouxVolley
Kansas leaving without Kansas St? And Oklahoma without Okie St. Maybe the PAC12 will take some of the Big12 stragglers, but the PAC12 commish denies any future expansion.

Just like Fullerton said the Big Sky will be FBS in a couple of years, and UND joining the league was the main reason for making the jump. It not really in there, but that is what Fullerton is saying. Just ask SV.

Should have posted this in the realignment thread, where it fits. Oklahoma's Boren has been making a lot of noise about some schools (Texas) voting against expansion. Boren wants academic peers, so he wants the B1G. Kansas will have no choice but to tag along. UT will get the same deal as Notre Dame in the ACC. The discussion is in full bore at CSSNBS. darell1976
Why wouldn't Texas join the SEC instead of the ACC, geography and Texas A&M would be a plus compared to traveling to Duke and Wake Forest.
SiouxVolley
Why wouldn't Texas join the SEC instead of the ACC, geography and Texas A&M would be a plus compared to traveling to Duke and Wake Forest.UT isn't gonna follow A&M. ACC is higher academically (Pitt, UVa, UNC, Duke, GA Tech are AAU compared with Vandy, UF, Mizzou, and A&M). If Texas goes independent in football like ND, it could schedule ND, Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, a PAC12 team, a Big 10 team, and up to 4 ACC teams. It would keep the Longhorn network. Mega $S.The SEC, Big 10, and PAC12 would force UT to drop the Longhorn network.

If Texas moves and if the Oklahomas and Kansas' move would there be room for a Big 12 north division also known as the MVFC/BSC FBS division? How sweet that would be. How sweet that would be.If there is a Big 12 north there would be no need to include BSC teams. They would take NDSU, SDSU, UNI and Illinois State and would have no need for any BSC teams. It's not happening, but if it did, it would not be good news for UND or their fans.
SIOUXFAN97
MWC and American plays an FBS schedule, MVFC plays FCS teams....big difference. Teams like NDSU could probably hold their own in the MWC with a degree of difficulty but not your whole conference, and I know you can think of MVFC teams that would struggle in the next level.haha..you are kidding right???
