darell1976 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Jackson and Golladay would be helpful right now... So would Braden Hanson Quote
NewUNDAlum Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Some of the posts in the predictions thread suggested SJSU was "worse than last year" or not really worthy of being FBS. That will all turn into "big-time win" over a "mid-level FBS" team should a comeback happen. Mark my words. I think beating any FBS team would be considered a big time win for a team picked to finish in the bottom 3 of their FCS conference. Quote
gfhockey Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 do you want me to lie to my self and say we are playing good and playing toe to toe with a good fbs team? Quote
SIOUXFAN97 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 wish they would roll mollberg out a little...drag routes to the te across the middle...more qb draws...bootlegs...use joe's feet a little more Quote
MafiaMan Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Spoken like a true bison fan. This would be a big win for und if it were to happen. Shawn-O, is that you? Quote

Maybe darell can get his whipping boy Eastern Michigan on the docket? If nothing else, UND's uniforms would look great on the grey turf in Ypsilanti. Quote
NewUNDAlum Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I think its safe to say the our linebackers are far and away our best overall unit. Quote
Cratter Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I hate to say it, but I feel the excitement for the new season is already deflating. But I'll still be at every home game. Quote
darell1976 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I think its safe to say the our linebackers are far and away our best overall unit. And again our DB are the worst overall unit Quote
nhockey30 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 We just aren't very good. It's just painfully evident. Quote
andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 is it fire hak season yet? Why is this necessary? Quote
MafiaMan Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 is it fire hak season yet? Dammit...I hate to admit it, but that made me laugh out loud. Quote
FSSD Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 OK, offense lets respond.. give the defense a chance to rest. Quote
Hayduke Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Ouch... Well, this isn't a good start for the Bubba crew. But, it's only the first game. Gotta build on something. Quote
MafiaMan Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I love the SJSU Spartan logo. It sure beats Michigan State's Marvin the Martian one. Quote
gfhockey Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 und Spartans? or doesmoose swensonand south middle school have fights to that name? Quote
SIOUXFAN97 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 i saw enought of little running backs getting two yards a rush the last couple of years....simmons/sharp/shaugs Quote
darell1976 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 At least after this game they can work on improving. Its a long season, and as long as they can stay in the game and not get blown out in the first half like they did with UM, MSU, EWU, thats a positive. Quote
NewUNDAlum Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 I think we have some talent that can play. The exciting part is that the talent that we have looks to have a couple years left. The issue is that the positions that we lack talent we REALLY lack talent. We might have 1 defensive lineman that can play and he's a freshman. Our offensive line doesn't appear to have an identity. Decent size but not very physical and not very athletic. Losing Galloday is a killer for our skill positions. Secondary needs some serious work. Hopefully Carr ends up being a contributor. I think Mollberg is going to be a player once we get our protections figured out. Overall, we have some talent to compete but we need to do some serious developing and recruiting of certain positions of weakness because some of these guys starting would struggle to start on some DII teams that I've seen.
