MafiaMan Posted September 18, 2014 Author Posted September 18, 2014 18 runs given up by the Tigers in 3 games with the Twins. Absolutely ridiculous. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 2 vs.DET, 3 vs.CLE, 3 vs.ARI, and 4 @.DET how many more do they win 3? 1 W against Detroit 1 W against Cleveland 3 games into the final 12 and they're already at 2 W's. Detroit absolutely pounded KC tonight. Verlander pitched like Kate Upton was gonna dump him if the Tigers don't make the post-season. Quote

I am absolutely stunned to see the turnaround the offense has had this year.....Between Arcia, Santana, and Vargas it sure has been fun to watch most nights. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 3-2 Tigers over the Royals! Joe Nathan for Hall of Fame! Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 Milwaukee's epic tumble is near complete. Pittsburgh's magic number for the last NL wild card spot is down to 5 (over Milwaukee). If it wasn't for Oakland's AL West train wreck everyone would be talking about Milwaukee's NL Central collapse. Quote

Detroit loses to the White Sox tonight...now 1-3 in their last 4 games against the two worst teams in the division. They just can't put the Royals away. Quote
nodakvindy Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 What about Atlanta's collapse? They were pushing the Nationals most of the season and definitely were in the Wild Card race, but just went off a cliff the last month. Milwaukee seemed like smoke and mirrors and it only seemed a matter of time before they would be reeled in. They were just able to ride an unbelievably hot start for a long time. St. Louis had at least tied them on multiple occasions. Playoffs should be wide open this year. 1 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Pittsburgh's magic number for the last NL wild card spot is down to 5 2 (over Milwaukee). Updated. Actually, Pittsburgh's in a good spot to host the NL wild card game as they're tied with SF. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 What about Atlanta's collapse? I guess I didn't realize how badly ATL had tipped over until last night. The Mets have caught them in the NL East! Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 I guess I didn't realize how badly ATL had tipped over until last night. The Mets have caught them in the NL East! I don't think their "collapse" has been that bad - I remember earlier in the season folks on ESPN saying that they figured once Washington got healthy, they'd blow past the Braves - and they have. How bad do the signings of Dan Uggla and B.J. Upton look now though? I think Kate Upton might have a higher batting average. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Bye bye Brewers! 150 days in 1st place this summer...no playoffs. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 ...and the Tigers blow a 3-0 9th inning lead against the White Sox...just great. Quote
Shawn-O Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 ...and the Tigers blow a 3-0 9th inning lead against the White Sox...just great. No bullpen for DET, thus Ausmus let Price go too long. Tigers escape 4-3. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 No bullpen for DET, thus Ausmus let Price go too long. Tigers escape 4-3. Ian Kinsler has really saved the Tigers this season. Prince Fielder would have hit into a DP in the 9th. ZERO confidence in Detroit's bullpen. Quote

MafiaMan Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 So now we have locker room champagne showers when you qualify for the one-game wildcard game? REALLY? Quote
Blackheart Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So now we have locker room champagne showers when you qualify for the one-game wildcard game? REALLY?Well it is the Pirates, right? Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Well it is the Pirates, right? It's not just them...I saw it last year too. I guess it's OK if you WIN the wild-card game, sure, then you're in the playoffs, but getting to game #163 really doesn't count. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 24, 2014 Author Posted September 24, 2014 Tigers win 6-1. Royals play tonight. Quote

Shawn-O Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So I'm defending my league championship in fantasy baseball. Need big week from Posey, Go-Go, Altuve. Justin Upton has disappeared. Quote
MafiaMan Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 So I'm defending my league championship in fantasy baseball. Need big week from Posey, Go-Go, Altuve. Justin Upton has disappeared. If your boy Go-Go runs out of the box instead of doing a cocky bat toss and strutting his first five steps to 1B, he might have had a triple instead of a double for you. Still not quite the HR he obviously thought he had, LOL! Quote
The Sicatoka Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Phil Hughes: 1/3 of an inning short of 210 innings ... and a $500,000.00 bonus. I think every Twins pitcher not named Hughes should wake up Sunday morning with "bilateral arm and shoulder weakness" thus forcing Hughes to go out and pitch. Quote
Snake Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Hughes has 8 million other reasons not to lose too much sleep over it, but to have an hour-plus rain delay ruin your chances of getting just ONE MORE OUT is awful luck. Maybe they can find a way to get him an out from the bullpen this weekend. Quote
