fightingsioux4life Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I have to admit that the posts in this thread made me smile, very funny and witty. So, where's my buddy DaveK? Probably still mourning the under-achieving Penguins and their early exit. Quote
scpa0305 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Your fault for posting in the middle of Bruins talk! Ha, good call. Unreal goal though. Quote
Goon Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 What do you guys think about this hit? Embellishment or not? Quote
MafiaMan Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 To me, I find the Habs as offensive as the Gophers, I hate them. But this is coming from a guy that has been a Bruins fans since 1988. Think of it this way, The Habs are the Gophers and the Bruins are UND. That should put it into perspective. So that would make the Blackhawks the BC Eagles and the Kings the Dutchmen? Or would Chicago be the Wolverines and LA the Soo Lakers? Quote
stoneySIOUX Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 i prefer my ice cream sans taint as well. Huh? Quote

MafiaMan Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Where are you going with this? I was continuing the theme of assigning college programs to NHL teams. Who are the Red Wings? Quote
Blackheart Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I was continuing the theme of assigning college programs to NHL teams. Who are te Red Wings? Alabama-Huntsville? (sorry, couldn't resist) 1 Quote
MafiaMan Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Haha, I've seen that before. Wow does Malkin get undressed though. They need to do the same thing for Ovi....he has 1-2 every game. http://www.sportspickle.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/fc8f6fcb523463de5b60ad3e618a8212.gif Quote

scpa0305 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 http://www.sportspic...d3e618a8212.gif Now that was great....one hand on the stick, no knee bend. That was very "men's league". Funny. Quote
MafiaMan Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 how about UW? I'd like to see Matt Niskanen replace David Legwand... http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2014/04/red_wings_have_a_long_way_to_g.html Quote
MafiaMan Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Now that was great....one hand on the stick, no knee bend. That was very "men's league". Funny. Right! You've got #38 trying to cover two guys by the net when the shooter could have easily been picked up by Employee #8 had Alex been interested in covering him. Quote
Goon Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 I was continuing the theme of assigning college programs to NHL teams. Who are the Red Wings? Think of a whinny college team that doesn't like to play gritty hockey and then you have the Red Wings... Quote
MafiaMan Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Think of a whinny college team that doesn't like to play gritty hockey and then you have the Red Wings... By "gritty," do you mean not willing to pull a Lucic on DeKeyser? Or being a crybaby in the handshake line after a series is over? I If so, then by all means, call the Red Wings "not gritty." Quote
scpa0305 Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Right! You've got #38 trying to cover two guys by the net when the shooter could have easily been picked up by Employee #8 had Alex been interested in covering him. Just sent that to a Caps fan co-worker. We had a laugh. He noted Ovi pulls that like once per week. In looking at his +\- from last year those plays shouldn't be unusual. Quote
Fetch Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 So far the Chicago LA game has not been all that exciting & the other series worse - I'd rather see the Wild Avs again 1 Quote
Speez Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 So far the Chicago LA game has not been all that exciting & the other series worse - I'd rather see the Wild Avs again Game started at 7:15. Looks exciting now. GO HAWKS!!! Quote
Fetch Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I still would like to see the goal a foot wider six iches higher & more of a scoring race - so games were like 30 to 29 or higher I know all u purist say defense is what u like & I too enjoy it - I just think it would maybe bring more fans to the sport - it takes many yrs of watching to respect all factors of the game - Especially goaltending - some are unbelievable some not so much but are streaky - seems whoever gets the best of the best goalies dominate I'll stop now & put on my flame retardant suit Quote
farce poobah Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Reaction to game 2 first period Hawks-Kings: It's refreshing to see interference called. If the refs call that consistently, this one will belong to the Hawks. I expect games 3-4 to be night and day, as Sutter rotates Kopitar's line away from Toews' line. Quote

Goon Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I was continuing the theme of assigning college programs to NHL teams. Who are the Red Wings? It wasn't about that. Look at the way the Habs play, they mouth off and then hide behind the refs and beg them to rescue them. Then you have the Bruins who play similar to the gritty, hard nosed Fighting Sioux teams of past years. It was an analogy, a comparison. Quote

Fetch Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I do have a grandson trying it but he is very good at hockey Quote
Siouxman Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Hockey is doing better than it ever has. Why don't you just watch lacrosse? Hey! We all do, especially when it interferes with watching our favorite hockey team, unless we are on the phone to ESPN. Quote
