Bison06 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 You said football. Stay focused. F-O-O-T-B-A-L-L. Maybe this will help you... Buttfootball. Mean Machine Football. After all, if you mention hockey to the NE Texas A&M Armadillo fans, they won't know what you're saying. I forgot, only mention hockey when it benefits the UND poster in the conversation. How do you respond to the football player who had temper issues? No big deal?
Hayduke Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I forgot, only mention hockey when it benefits the UND poster in the conversation. This isn't a hockey thread, boy. Focus. Or you can go to Buffaloville.com and speak with the other children of the upcoming game between the Mean Machine and the N.E. Amarillo State Spitting Tarantulas. As far as the other, you do the research. You brought it up.
geaux_sioux Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Empirical evidence? You really want to open pandora's box? You quickly forget some of the trouble UND hockey players have been in these past couple of years. Then there was a young man from Fargo who played on the football team who had a bit of a temper problem. Seems his issue with the law was slightly more violent than what the NDSU players are accused of. This round goes to the man in the green and piss colored trunks. Can't dispute what that psycho did

bincitysioux Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Oh, come on already! It's a D-1 championship in name only. The real D-1 championship game is between Alabama and Notre Dame. If I went around and polled football fans and said to them, "Who is playing for the Division I football championship this coming week?", what answer would I get? You and I both know it would be "Alabama and Notre Dame". Nobody knows about the game between The Sam Adams State Minutemen and the Fargo College Mean Machine. Heck, It's not even in the paper listed under college football games through the week. Is it a championship? Absolutely. It's just not a major college championship. It is, despite all the puffery going on on the Buffaloville sewing circle, just the D-1 Jr. Varsity Championship. If UND builds that athletic center, they will soon be in that same game. And I will cheer them on wholeheartedly. But, I would never believe it was a true D-1 championship game. That's like calling the AAA Minor League Championship series the World Series. It's just stupid. It doesn't matter what 'FCS" school is playing in it. Fargo U. and Sam Houston State will be playing on Saturday for the preeminent championship that the NCAA awards in the sport of football. For a school like Fargo or Sam Houston State to participate in the FCS Championship game is not any less impressive than it is for Johns Hopkins or Duke to square off in the DI Lacrosse Championship, or for North Dakota and Bemidji St. to face off in the final game of the Frozen Four. If possible, I would move mountains for North Dakota to be in a positon to still be playing football on Jan. 5 like Sam Houston and Fargo U. will be....................... I hope and expect that North Dakota will also attain this monumental acheivement in the not so distant future. When they do, I won't be making light of it..............
CMSioux Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I say let su have two weeks of no football when Carolina backs out - UND has a great schedule, our goal should be to make the playoffs and win the Big Sky. Also I highly doubt the su admnistration is serious about scheduling a game with UND they just need the satisfaction of public outcry and perception that UND needs the game more than they do. There are plenty of states that have more than one University that don't play each other on a regular basis. su has set its standard (it never really changed) "Win at all cost". UND has set its standard - to be the Flagship University of the state. Nope - our schedule is set let the media have their fun, let su bring in a dog and sell it out, but we don't need this game.

You are the only UND poster who seems to not understand how quickly all of your comments can get thrown back in your face. You think UND football players don't drink underage? One weekend and maybe a few of those guys get picked up for minors or DUI's. Remind us of how tthe UND football player was dealt with - did the AD go public saying "there are a lot of haters out there" "We'll let the legal process play out". Did he ever set foot on the field again as a player? When was the last time there were 10 players on a UND team that had run ins with the law in the same year. Haven't seen any police pulling UND players out of any bleachers ever. 2

When John Hopkins and Duke meet for the D-1 Lacrosse Championship, it is at the highest level of college sports. When (This would be fun) UND and Bemidji meet for the D-1 Ice Hockey Championship, it is at the highest level of college sports. When the Mean Machine of the Fargo Tractor Institute of Technology and the Alamo Tech Bearclaws meet for their championship game, it is at the second tier of college football. It is D-1 in name only. Alabama and Notre Dame play for the real D-1 championship. They should go back to calling it I-AA. Nothing wrong with that. Calling it a D-1 championship is a running joke. When SportCenter shows the 30 second clip of highlights of the JV Championship, people will sit in their armchairs and say, "NDS...who?". Then they'll get about ten minutes of commentary on the upcoming college football championship game between the Tide and the Irish. They'll have forgotten about the supposed "D-1" championship highlights they barely saw and probably didn't even pay any attention to at all. 1

People feel that way when it comes to college hockey as well. If UND was in the FCS Title game I would be very excited for the team, and wouldn't bash it. I think the title game is a big deal because its the only NC game UND, NDSU or Sam Houston will see in DI football. Unless the FBS has a true playoff system like every other division in sports we will never have a chance at raising a championship trophy. Just take Boise State for example of only the big dogs get the title game.

You are just looking foolish by making comments like this. No, we aren't. We would look foolish by acting as if it were a true D-1 Championship. People laugh at that. It should be called the I-AA championship like it was in the past. If you actually believe it is a true D-1 championship, you are fooling yourself. The Mean Machine will probably win and get their 30 seconds of fame on SportsCenter. Then, their fans will puff their chests and claim to be able to beat the likes of 'Bama or the Fighting Irish, cuz theys all D-1 Champs! THAT is what looks foolish. 1

I wonder what tourney gets better tv ratings and coverage? The highest level of college athletics known to man d1 hockey or the lowest of the low fcs football? Stop being jealous of ndsu and posting insecure things in a pathetic attempt to belittle their success 2

So what if they get on Sportscenter and fans puff their chests. Let them. If UND won I would love to see that on Sportscenter too. UND is not going to win a DI championship in anything except hockey. Basketball yeah right look out Duke and Kansas here comes UND. Volleyball, baseball? I think not. This is as far as we can go in football. If UND was in the Big 10 then I would think we have a shot at the FBS title, but that will NEVER EVER happen. The only chance at a football title is the FCS. If Bison fans want to compare their team to Alabama let them, they look like idiots when they do so why let it bother you.

Might want to be careful here...not a football player, but I remember a certain former UND Basketball player being escorted away from a game...or maybe he was playing a pickup game on campus. Either way, it only takes one student athlete to mess up and we could be where NDSU is/has been. 1

Don't forget the chant about UND at their post game celebration. The governor you elected started that at the dome. If you are referring to any phantom chants at the Natty game, I was there and didn't hear anyone say anything about UND. Also, I see Darrell claims it was going on at the pregame party, nope. Once again, I was there and didn't hear anything. Maybe a few drunk idiots but nothing more.

My post was a joke, and yes Dalrymple started the chant but the idiot Bison fans added their "Sioux suck" after it. Every school says "here we go XXXXX here we go". Its what comes after it what fans add.

Every school says "here we go XXXXX here we go". Its what comes after it what fans add. And every fan at NDSU was raised/taught finishing that cheer with Sioux Suck. If he wanted a different response, he could have done the much more current and common chant, (invented by Lakes if you ask him circa 2006 Metrodome) "Let's Go Bison." Hard to tell if posts are jokes sometimes. SS.com needs to add the purple font.

JohnboyND7 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Did the governor take the time to make the signs that referenced UND that were down in Frisco last year? Ah, well I did not see a single one at the game. I did not see any yesterday. I doubt I will see one today, tomorrow, or Sunday either. If you would like to let the actions of a few uncreative people dictate what you perceive to be a fanbase, that is a personal problem.
