Hambone Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Hambone where you getting this info that seems to be in real time?? http://www.undsports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=205372074&SPSID=58640&SPID=6399&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=13500&atclid=205371814 Quote
UND Fan Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 I guess we signed everyone that we knew about that was getting $. Right? Quote
darell1976 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 O-Coord. Greg Breitbach: I'm out of time. Coach Schleusner is up next. Before I go I'd like to thank our fans and all of the support. You'll like this recruiting class in the seasons to come.... We'll be ready for 2012! Gotta love that quote!! Quote
Hambone Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I would assume that the rest of the PWO have yet to pay their dorm deposit. Didn't see Schwartkopf, Brandon Larson or Jake Hanson. Also didn't see Schobert. Quote
Westside Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Must have offered Vesledahl a scholie if they are announcing him as number 18. Mussman was quoted as saying he is a walk-on. Quote
Hambone Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Kotelnicki noted that they are still looking for one more LB. Should be at least one more signing after today there I would guess. Quote
UND Fan Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 I posted this over on the FCS Recruiting thread - meant to have it here....> I think Wiki is fully updated with the 21 signees and 7 PWOs (assuming those that haven't paid their fees will show up on campus this fall). It will be interesting to learn if any of the guys had more offers than we are aware of. I like the class but it appears there weren't many who had other offers. No need to comment on that comment - I fully realize some kids who weren't highly recruited turn out to be great college FB players. However, I would prefer that they were more highly thought of by other schools Quote
darell1976 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I wonder how our class will rank with the rest of the Big Sky? Quote
UNDColorado Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 This class is looking pretty darn solid; I am happy with what I am seeing at this point. Solid QB and DB play could make a world of difference this season. I actually can't wait for spring ball! Quote
mg2009 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I wonder how our class will rank with the rest of the Big Sky? In terms of filling immediate needs, probably #1 or 2 along with UNC. Pretty confident with the offensive players, particularly at skill positions. Quote
mg2009 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 also arp hasn't signed with ndsu yet, so maybe this isn't over. *knock-on-wood Quote
UND92,96 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Not sure whether anybody else follows "Edgy Tim" on twitter, but he tweeted a little while ago that "Daveed Carter from Loyola Academy will NOT be signing an LOI with North Dakota today". I can only assume there must have previously been a report that he would be. I've never heard of him before. Quote

UND92,96 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I'm still somewhat shocked by the fact that only one OL was signed. I can't recall that ever happening before. Quote
UND Fan Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 I'm still somewhat shocked by the fact that only one OL was signed. I can't recall that ever happening before. I agree - I have been following UND FB recruiting closely for many years. I don't every remember only one OL in a class. Even with the PWOs, Schwartkopf is expected to be on defensive side of the line. Quote
Jheria Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I will take BLAME for that, maybe he is just a fan, my mistake. The bottom line is the kid chose NDSU, whether he changed his mind or not. May never know and it probably doesn't matter at this point. He would have been a nice ND walk-on but didn't happen. The names are coming in though - I love the live blog thing from UND! Fixed it for you. And your right it doesn't matter at this point. Quote
KBH2010 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 After watching the highlight videos, I really do like this class. Can't wait to see what these guys can do when they get on the field. Quote
UND92,96 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 I thought this was a pretty interesting response by Mussman to a question about replacing Belmore as recruiting coordinator: We have not named that position yet. There will be a number of different staff responsibilities that will change here in the future. Hopefully, this can reenergize some guys and give them different areas to recruit. Quote
GeauxSioux Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 WIth the group that was signed today, I'd have to say that UND football looks to go a lot more vertical. A nice collection of QBs and WRs in the bunch. The addition of Braden Hanson for one year is huge, on and off the field, as a leader and mentor. Watching the video of Kodee Varner, wow, does that kid have speed. Big Sky here we come!!! Quote
badger1 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 hows the class lookin? beat out any lower fbs schools or whats the scoop? Quote
zonadub Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Fixed it for you. And your you're right it doesn't matter at this point. since you're into fixin', I fixed your post but then, that's ag schoolin' for ya... Quote

Hambone Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 SFI just tweeted that Mussman said another OL will likely be signed in the next few days. So it sounds like they are looking to get OL and LB still for the year. Sounds good. Quote
