GeauxSioux Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 London keeping an eye on 2012 Olympic mascotsThey're not furry animals, neither male nor female and have no cutesy names. London 2012 organizers unveiled the Olympic and Paralympic mascots Wednesday -- one-eyed creations from the digital age named after two small English towns. Officials predicted the mascots -- Wenlock and Mandeville -- will be a big hit with kids and help inspire young people to get involved in Olympic sports. Quote

siouxforeverbaby Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Looks like something out of a Japanese anima (sp). anime (gotta love Google) and what the ______ are those things supposed to be? Quote
the green team Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Run for your lives, those things are frightening--their more likely to scare kids than encourage them to get involved in olympic activities. Are these from the same people who came up with tele tubies? I think the Olympics would be better off if host cities and countries would not pursue mascots, because this is what the end result is. Shawn-O Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Have the London organizers checked into Thunder the Bleacher Creature's availability? Quote
jodcon Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 You're telling me this is the best thing they've come up with in 2 years of planning? I'd hate to see the rejected ones. Quote

redwing77 Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 Perhaps they represent missing teeth from the collective British smile? I doubt they're smiling all that much about this. I think they'd say something like: "What the bloody hell are those two things?" Quote
